    • A wood carving knife so dull it can't cut cardboard
It really pains me to write this review being a big fan of Case and their Seahorse Whittler, but this knife was shipped out completely dull. Nearly butter knife dull. I have spent nearly an hour sharpening the main Wharncliffe blade and it still takes a great deal of pressure to strip the bark off a dried sumac branch. I have 2 other Seahorse Whittlers that still serve me well and spent over $110.00 to get this one as a every hike carry, but it cannot even slice through single cardboard cleanly, or poke through it effortlessly, which is what a Wharncliffe should do. Additionally, there was some slight scuffing on one of the scales and minor gapping on the spine...things I could overlook had the knife been sharp. No knife company should be sending out dull blades...ever. That is THE unforgivable sin in the world of cutlery. It is especially unforgivable to send out a knife designed to carve wood when it can barely cut through cardboard. ... show more
