This is our second pair of snowshoes from Explorer and I am very impressed with this brand. There are better snowshoes out there, but they typically cost 2-3 times as much. We like these much better than other “value” snowshoes. The picture is with my son, who was able to easily put them on himself (I really like the ratchet buckles on these and I don’t know why other brands don’t use them). The shoes are light, agile, and pivot nicely when making your way through the snow. One note: the carry bag we received looks a little different than what is pictured in the description. It is entirely enclosed instead of mesh (which is better for keeping any snow and ice away from other gear, but does make it more difficult to see which shoes are inside). ... show more

I mistakenly ordered the wrong size in these snow shoes. I was right on the edge of needing the next size and I ordered the smaller size. However, with gear I am solidly in the next size up, so what I got won’t work for me. These are light weight snow shoes, but I was not impressed with the quality of the straps/“buckles.” I am not willing to take these on a long hike, because that feature seems of cheap quality. I don’t want them to break when I am far from help. So be sure you get the right size, and don’t plan on long hikes in these. They do come with a handy carrying case. ... show more

I love the snowshoes. We recently had at least a foot of snow and were able to try these out decently. They work well, they are easy to attach my boots, they fit well, they hold my feet even when I'm walking on uneven terrain. They're so much fun to use, and very stable. They're sturdy shoes-- and very lightweight. I think they're great. I've can't wait to use them again tomorrow. Recommended! ... show more
