So far so good. I've only done the initial treatment to our cutting board, but we have a 7ft long butcher block counter top in our newly remodelled kitchen that I plan to treat as well. Furthermore, we went with some East Coast slate for the majority/remainder of our counter tops, which the quarry/manufacturers like to treat with mineral oil as a final step after the honing process. We didn't want a petroleum product on ours, so when I found out about Caron & Doucet's product, I was eager to try it on an unfinished sample of our slate material. It works fantastic so far. The finish is matte and non-oily for the most part, doesn't leave streaks or finger imprints when you lean on it, and won't go rancid. Best of all, it really deepens the darker finish of our slate and makes the natural elements pop. My only complaint would be that the tiny bottles they sell are too expensive and won't go far enough. I need a larger bottle for my kitchen at a discounted volume price. :) ... show more

Bought this for a Bamboo cutting board, its been waxed 3x already and good to go, no weird smell, no strange feel, it went on well and seems like it will protect the board for some time...one small item, would have been nice for a small microfiber cloth under the cap......

I bought this wax with their mineral oil and have been using both on my butcher block cutting board. These products have made my cutting board like new again - really easy to use and have restored moisture and sheen to the wood beautifully. I used small amounts rubbing it into a wood table I refinished with a cloth and it works great. Some people don't realize that commercial wood sprays are bad for wood. I wanted a natural way to protect wood, and use this on cutting boards I use for cutting vegetables and fish, as well as a sealant on fine furniture. I did the research on wood and this is the way to go. The table top has a unique wood look, so I preserved it with the wax. For a light dusting, just use a cloth. I like this product quite a bit. I used it by itself and not with the oil that was recommended I use with it. I will try it with oil the next time. I like how it seems to protect the wood without making my cutting board and wooden spoons feel greasy or oily. The smell is nice and doesn't seem to last long after the application; which is great because I have no worries about the smell tainting the food the I will eventually cut on on my newly waxed board. ... show more

I've had a huge cutting board for over many many that my sister gave me. It had long since lost its luster and looked so dry and unattractive. I happened upon this cutting board wax and decided to give it a go. I didn't have time to give the board the attention it needed, but with the quick application that I applied, the difference was night and day. One day soon I will apply a little more to the board and will see what comes of it. I know I won't be disappointed. Oh! And I LOVE the fact that it is a food safe wax!
