The quality of this product surpasses my expectations and smelled nice too. The cleaning power was amazing. I love the idea of the natural ingredients and the oil left a great shine on my black iron skillet. These products are a must to ensure the longevity and preservation of your cast iron to share for generations to come! I personally will be encouraging the use of this product line on my blog/social media page.

Best oil for cast iron!
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
I recently purchased a cast iron skillet from Amazon & saw the ad for the Caron soap and oil recommended for cast iron, so I purchased the set offered. I just used my skillet to cook a pound of bacon and then waited for the skillet to cool down so I could wash it. I found the soap product not as effective as I needed it to be. The directions said to use a teaspoon of soap and hot water which I did but it wasn't getting rid of the grease at all. I used a teaspoon of the soap TWO MORE TIMES but it just didn't work very well. I ended up using a bit of Dawn and hot water and that did the trick. I found the Caron oil to be very effective in preparing the skillet for the next time. I followed the directions on the bottle and it worked like a charm. I definitely recommend the oil, but not the soap. I will continue to use the soap since I've already purchased it and if I find that it works cleaning the skillet after cooking other food, I will let you know.

I Was Skeptical at First...
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
I'm old school when it comes to cast iron. I never use soap. Liquids never sit in the cast iron any longer than necessary. Cast iron is cleaned immediately after use. These are the rules my grandfather gave me and I have always stuck to them. Recently, I came across a beautiful cast iron skillet at an estate sale in desperate need of love. The asking prince was $3. I pulled out my usual bag of tricks for recovering neglected cast iron, but I still wasn't able to get that smooth, glossy black surface. I read a few blogs and forum posts to see if there were any new tricks out there. I came across a mention of "soap" for cast iron. I initially shook my head, but there was a lot of positive responses to the post. I checked Amazon and quickly found this and the Cast Iron Oil. They were sold in a bundle and were inexpensive enough, so I thought I'd give it a try. The Cast Iron Soap is made from saponified coconut oil. Soap is what you get when you mix an oil with lye. In this case, it created a gentle soap with the very same oil used to season cast iron. You only need a very small amount, too. This removed all of the years of neglect and whatever else was hiding in the iron and left a beautiful, dull black finish. After drying the pan, I placed it in the oven to remove any remaining water and gently heat the iron to open its pores. Once accomplished, I rubbed the entire pan down with the Cast Iron Oil. It left a beautiful sheen and was not the slightest bit sticky. The first time I used the pan was to make eggs. There wasn't the slightest bit of sticking and the cleanup was a simple rinse, dry, and re-oil. That pan is now one of my favorite and I'm in the middle of reseasoning all my pans with the Cast Iron Oil. Get yourself some. There's just nothing else like it.

Excellent light cleaning solution and oil for cast iron
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
I've been using the product for about six months to clean our cast iron pans, and it does a great job without being harsh on the pans or removing the build-up of seasoning already on them. The pan comes clean, and the oil continues the seasoning process. Next time I cook with my cast iron, the food doesn't stick to the pan, or it's very easy to come off. I love this, and I highly recommend it.
