For the price, this is a solid microphone that will give superior quality for speaking voice recording / broadcasting and acceptable quality for singing, though for music recording you may want to spend the extra money and get an SM57. Manufacturing quality is good. This is a professional microphone that feels well made, not at all like a cheap knock-off. There is good weight here and all the components look good. This can take regular use without falling apart. The packaging is excellent, too. It comes in a hard clamshell storage / carry case, the mic itself is in a small vinyl bag with zipper seal, and it comes with an XLR cable. All in all, nice presentation. And the gold color (I guess for their anniversary celebration) really helps it stand out visually. Small things like that can be helpful in production situations. Sound wise, it's a touch treble heavy and doesn't produce as full a bottom end as you'd like for music, but the mid range is crisp and clear. This is ideal for speaking and, depending on the person's voice, singing. While it's not replacement for a workhorse like an SM57, at lass than half the price it's good for people on a budget, as it's a clear step up from lower end mics. ... show more
