This was what I expected. It’s kinda hard finding things small enough to pick up. The kids figured it out and loved it. I bought little tiny stuffed animal packs and squishes and put single candy and gum inside with them. The music is so annoying.     • Perfect size to sit on a book shelf
After reading reviews on many of these types of machines I ended up with this one. My first choice was sold out so runner up won. First the pros- It is rather entertaining for kids and adults. Perfect size to sit on a book shelf. Bright colors. It looks nice. Really works to an extent....see cons Cons- When I received the machine it worked but rattled like there was something stuck in it. So we unscrewed the bottom and found a peice if plastic rolling around inside. It apparently wasn't important because machine still works. Takes D cell batteries....nothing runs on D batteries anymore....except this thing. Music it plays is VERY loud and there's no control options. I considered cutting the speaker cord to make it silent, but with out the music you don't know when your turn is almost up. The music speeds up the last 10 seconds or so. The claw was wrapped on plastic abd tied in place to protect it in shipping. Problem is the opening in the top is very small and you can't take the top off so it was difficult getting it undone for play. Claw is rather weak. So you have to be sure prizes are fairly light. It has 3 joysticks that control it. They are all plastic and my daughter has popped them off several times. Luckily she hasn't clean snapped them off.. yet... The coin slot doesn't really work. Coins pass by the trigger making it work, but the coin doesn't go all the way down until another coin pushes it put if the way OR as my son quickly learned when a butter knife of screwdriver pushes it. That brings me to the next con.... you can easily activate it by just pressing the button in the coin slot with a flat object. Sucks when your kids learn they don't really need coins and just cheat. On the bright side they can't be sneaky about doing it bevause whenever activated the loud circus music rats them out. Overall for the price I am satisfied, but the quality is not fantastic. ... show more

I would have gladly paid a little more to have this look better quality, but it clearly was our granddaughter's favorite Christmas present. It plays a cute little carnival music as soon as the plastic token is dropped in.

My son wanted a claw game for Christmas. We could not fit (or afford) a real arcade sized, so gave this a shot. It is fantastic. He has not stopped playing it for two days straight. Most grabs get a toy or candy (we filled it with little finger puppets and chocolates), but there is still some skill involved. When you drop a toy into the slot, the machine cheers and shuts off. It took my 6-year-old about five minutes to figure out that anything he pushes into the coin slot will activate the machine, which is no big deal. There is a big pile of fake coins included if you need them though. It was a bit of a hassle getting this ready to play. The claw is wrapped in plastic which must be removed, but there is no way to open up the machine to access the claw. I was able to remove the plastic through the top accessport with some scissors, but it was a bit tedious. There is also a white wire wrapped around the claw moving mechanism that you need to unwind. Once those parts are off, this thing is good to go. It is a bit loud, but a few pieces of packing tape over the speaker holes reduced the sound to a more tolerable level. ... show more

I purchased this as a last minute birthday gift ( along with optional gift wrap). The only reason i gave it 4 starts instead of 3 is because it was a big ht with the children AND adults. However, since this was a last minute gift, I decided to last minute put batteries and toys inside. When I took it out of the gift bag the box (as well as the box it was shipped in) was damaged and when i pulled the carnival game out of the box the plexiglass was cracked and the right side. Since i literally has no time to return the gift or take pictures I still gave the gift as it was along with the gift receipt. UPDATE: This is such an awesome gift but I still haven't learned my lesson! I previously bought one of these (as stated above) and received it damaged and had zero time to return... NOW since this is such a cool toy and i'm obviously a cool aunt I purchased 4 of these as Easter gifts for each family attending our festivities. Here i am again prepping all of the machines for some post-egg hunt gaming and one out of four purchased is damaged (pictures included this time). This time the mail carrier cannot be blamed, as the huge box i received them in was not damaged. This happened prior to the box being shipping out to me :( ... show more
