I've always been a fan of Carhartt socks, and these don't disappoint. I ride horses and was finding it difficult to get the Carhartt socks I'd always loved from my local farm and feed stores, and I'm a bit reluctant buying clothing online that I can't touch and feel before I buy them. But these fit exactly what I needed - they're thick but not to the point where they make my riding boots too tight, they're very soft inside, warm but not stifling, and they don't fall down or scrunch up at the heels - the last thing I want is to have to keep pulling my socks up, and these don't do that. They've also retained their shape quite well so far through the first few washings. Overall, very comfy for both shoes and just wearing around the house. I look forward to seeing how long they last - that's always an issue with me, because I wear my socks pretty hard. But going by just the feel of them, they seem very sturdy too. SIZING: I wear a size 8 1/2-9 women's shoe and I got the medium-sized socks even though Amazon said I should get large based on customer reviews. Advice: go by what the product size chart says. Mediums are the perfect size for my feet, and I'm really glad I didn't get large because my feet would have been swimming in them.

Most of the wool socks I get run small/tight on me because they are a size range from 7-10, but for these I got a medium, and they fit perfectly. little tight when I first wore them, but like most things, wear them a bit and they get used to you. they are warm but not dense, breath well. they are mid-calf, and will not cover your entire shin. they were a little itchy at first, but a washing or two with dryer sheets (for 10min on 'air fluff' or "de-wrinkle" if you don't want to shrink them) fixed that. they do loosen up as you wear them. however, I have small ankles and don't have any issue wearing them with boots; but I'm also not a leggings-all-the-time kinda gal. if you give them a little slack (pull them up to slightly lower than they would be if you pulled them up all the way), they'll stay in place. If you pull them too far, they will "contract" and slide down. I usually tuck my pants into my boots; no issues with the socks sliding down. they do loosen up considerably if you wear them 3-4 times between washings. if you have more of the smaller mid-sized feet, you might have to put them in the dryer on delicate to resize them after wearing (or consider getting a small). but it's worth it, they're cozy and I can wear thinner wool socks underneath if it gets really cold. first time I've bought this brand, and I'm glad I did. I've been an avid smartwool socks wearer since I was diagnosed with Reynaud's (my hands and feet are very sensitive to cold, and I live in MN); as soon as it gets below 65 inside I have to pull out my lighter-weight wool socks. this pair has served me well for the 10-20 degree days (combined with my bearpaw boots; not sure if these socks would live up to my experience with them in other footwear) when I've had to walk to the bus stop and around campus. and I would definitely buy carhartt again.

I recently purchased these wool socks and couldn’t be happier with them. They strike the perfect balance between thickness and comfort—thick enough to keep my feet warm, yet not so bulky that they interfere with my boots. The wool is soft, unlike many other wool socks that can be scratchy. They have quickly become my go-to pair. They are a great option at a wonderful price. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase!

These socks are nice and thick, and so awesome that they have a L size for women’s shoe sizes 10-12.5. I thought the top elastic was a bit tight/awkward because the rest of the top of the sock was cushioned. I don’t have particularly large ankles or legs so I was surprised that the top of the sock felt as constricting as it did? Hopefully it will stretch a bit. Nevertheless, highly recommended for price, warmth and comfort for New England winters.

Top is a bit tight. Super thick and comfy but, run big in size. I wear 8.5 women shoes and I ordered small. They do stretch as you wear even after a washing. I wear them with house slippers and not with boots or shoes yet.

The Carhartt Denim Boot Sock Wool Blend is a nice calf sock. I wear a woman's shoe size 7-8, depending on the shoe, and these fit me perfectly. The calf part of the sock is a good pressure, not too tight and definitely not loose, and stays up well. Winters are cold and I'm outside a lot so I anticipate these socks working well with my snow boots. These are a thick cushiony heavy duty boot sock that doesn't feel bulky. They seem well made and stitching at the toe-line seems well. I am very satisfied with my purchase and these boot socks will be my go to socks for outdoor wear in the winter. I also purchased the Carhartt khaki color, which is the same boot sock, and the oatmilk and black crew sock.
