Description

This heavyweight, hooded sweatshirt has a zip front for fast layering. It's made of 13-ounce, 80-percent cotton / 20-percent polyester fabric and has a rain defender durable water-repellent finish. It is designed with spandex- reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband to keep the cold out. There's an attached three-piece jersey-lined hood with draw cord, front hand-warmer pockets, and an antique-brass front zipper. The carat logo is embroidered on the front left pocket. Could just be my size, but this thing is definitely pretty big for an xl. I like big jackets so I'm fine with it, but if you like your jackets to fit you correctly, you might want to try a size smaller. The sleeves are a good 4 inches too long (but I kind of have short arms for my size). And the torso is definitely way too long for me. It goes past my butt and I'm 5'11", so definitely not short but not tall either. One positive I have for the size though is that the hood is just the right size. Lately some of the hoodies I've gotten have had hoods that were way too small. For some reason this seems to be getting more common. Love this jacket - it is perfect as the outer layer over another sweatshirt. I wear it in the barn and so it gets a lot of rough wear and it stands up to abuse. And the Rain Defender aspect is great for light snow or rain - you don't immediately get soaked.

Size: Small Color: New Navy
This jacket is nice and cozy for a cold day, I live in California and I would imagine the most I would need to do is layer a light hoodie under it. I would say size down, I heard that Carhartt designed this jacket to be the outer part of multiple layers, so they made it larger. I'm roughly 6 feet tall, wear a 38R for suit jackets, and usually wear size medium/large for clothing. I ordered a size small for this jacket and it fits perfectly on me, not too big not too small. The waist part of the jacket hugs you pretty tight, which I believe is to keep insulation. It doesn't look funky, but it definitely is something you will notice when you first put on the jacket. I find that I'm constantly adjusting the jacket because it slightly rides up when I'm walking because of how tight the bottom is. This obviously isn't a problem when you wear the jacket unzipped. There is a mini hidden pocket inside of the right pocket on the jacket, which is the perfect size to fit an iPhone (non max model) inside of it. The material on this jacket definitely feels high quality. I would say this jacket is suitable for anything above 50 degrees, nothing less. ... show more
