Carhartt's legendary, rugged duck canvas handles the wear and tear of farm, ranch, and jobsite. Featherless insulation throughout adds low-profile warmth for bitter cold. 12-ounce, 100% ringspun cotton duck. Taffeta lining for easy on and off; 80g 3M™ Thinsulate™ featherless insulation for warmth without the weight. Cordura®-reinforced sleeve hems resist wear and tear. Carhartt-strong, triple-stitched main seams. Full-zip front. Attached hood with inner drawcord and cord-lock. Internal rib- knit storm cuffs help keep out the cold. Elbow pleats for ease of movement. Two lined front pockets, one with pen stall. Two inner pockets.

Very strong material and fits his large frame great. Very heavy, strong material and hard to rip it tear. Durable zipper, very warm and has large pockets. My husband has very wide shoulders at 6'2"and over 350 pounds.

I got this jacket in the day before the big freeze in Texas this last winter. I was outside in 14 degree temps most of the day for 2 days and it kept me warm and dry. Very impressed with the warmth and comfort of this jacket. I am also a big guy. I usually wear a size 3XLT or 4XLT. This one is a 3XLT and it fits nicely with plenty of room to layer and move around. I am getting into Carhartt. Here in Montana, the weather is harsh. I am a laborer and spend a lot of time in the rough. I also do vehicle and motorcycle maintenance. Carhartt stands on business. When I tried to wear the trendy lightweight puffer jackets, I felt like a douchebag trying to make a fashion statement and fit in. What broke the camel's back is when my arms grazed against an exhaust manifold and melted the puffer jacket!! Lol. Anyways, this is tough canvas and the 3M flannel lining is very warm. I am 5ft8 and 175lbs. I ordered a medium. A large would just be too big. With a medium I could fit a sweater under it for the -30°F days. If you are my height and size and want a snug fit where it doesn't get so cold you could probably get away with a small. The zipper is heavy duty and I'm impressed with the build quality and materials. ... show more

This is a roomy, durable and warm jacket. I think it is pricey, but I suppose we are paying somewhat for the brand name. But all in all, I would say it is worth it. I bought a size larger than what I normally wear so I could comfortably put a vest on underneath for very cold weather, and I am glad I did. The jacket I have is plenty big, but still does not "swallow" me. I like the large and easy to use zipper, the insulated hood. A reasonable price I suppose for a well made jacket. It is also made in the USA, or at least not in China, if I understand correctly, and I am willing to pay more for USA made products. I recommend the jacket for men who have to be active outdoors in cold weather. ... show more
