It seems silly to write a review for a game that's been out as long as this one has. With 20 years experience in many expansions and multiple revisions, it's obvious that this is a well-loved game. I'm pretty late to the party for this one having ignored it for so long, but I fell in love with it instantly. The gameplay is simple with plenty of opportunities to add complexity to your liking. A gameplay elements are very satisfying as if finishing a puzzle. This game could be played with young kids. I'd say about age 6 or 7 assuming they have the ability to hold attention and remember a couple of key rules. The base game is five players out of the box, but the first expansion for it gives you a sixth player option which was very exciting for me as six player games are hard to come by. I recommend this to anyone since it can be as casual or as competitive as you want it to be. It became my wife's favorite board game almost instantly and now she plays it on her phone when she has free time alone. ... show more

This is one of my favorite strategy games. I first played this on the iPad and had to get a real copy. The game is approachable–yet deep when it comes to gameplay and strategy. If you like strategy games, but want something a bit more subtle than say Risk this is a great game! I can't say enough about it. Great game, offers some strategy while being more "zen" than some other board games I've played. The pieces are quality and it was really nice to see short bios about the artists and creator on the sides of the box.

I used to play this with coworkers at work during slow times. Now I purchased one to have for my 8 year old. He enjoys it and my 7 year old is happy with it as well. They love making the cities. Not super complicated and not alot of parts or set up.
