  • Working well so far.
Great alternative to an expensive vro pump. My factory vro was getting weak on the fuel side and I have been wanting to delete the oil injection anyway. This pump fit the bill and was a fraction of the price of others. I installed it on a 1990 evinrude xp150 x-flow motor. Had to drill a couple of extra holes in the factory vro mount to make it fit. It's been in service for 12 days on the lake and so far so good. Time will tell but it seems decently built. It's not exactly a direct replacement for this motor but if your doing the pump yourself I'm sure your probably capable of drilling a few holes in a bracket to make it work. ... show more

  • Product Leaking Fuel
After a delayed install, past the return window, I realized the pump was leaking fuel all around the main housing. Further investigation revealed a cross threaded bolt, which holds the pump together, was preventing a seal. Hours wasted.

  • Works Great 1991 Johnson 90 HP
In short, problem solved. I found a 1991 Johnson with 0 hours in an auction. First thing I did was disable the VRO oiling portion of the pump. For review, These VRO pumps are two pumps in one. One side is oil, and the other is fuel. But, not very reliable in the early years so I always disable the oil portion and mixed my own fuel (16 Oz to 6 gallons). After a short run time I lost all power, It would run but barely. I installed this kit AND rebuilt the carbs and the problem solved. The diaphram in the old pump was disentegrating. Arrived without instructions but in their defense it would be hard to capture all the different VRO mounting schemes. Keep in mind this is a dual diaphram pump which covers just about all 4 cyl and 6 cyl for about 30 years. But, they could have a piece of paper identifying the three input/exits. If you look at the picture it says oil in, oil out and air ?? It should say fuel in, fuel out and vacuum. I had to manufacture a bracket and re-route the fuel out hose. If you can manage cutting and drilling a small piece of aluminum , you'll be good to go. ... show more

  • Works pretty good
Works good at 4800 rpm and less real good, but over 5000 rpm will not pump enough fuel into a 140 looper.

  • No instructions just the box and part
While I'm very mechanically inclined and pride myself on my intellectually, this pump came w no instructions. No max/min volume or minimal pressure or vacumns needed to operate efficiently. They claim it is a bolt on to replace the VRO Pump. I have 5 hoses on my VRO pump need to reduce to 3. Fuel in, out and vacuum. I have 2 vacs, fuel in oil in and fuel out plus electrical connections. Again a guy w little knowledge would be confused w out instructions. POOR packaging. Going to install and write a followup. I won't totaly eliminate the VRO yet as I don't trust what I see.. ... show more

  • Works but not enough output for 200hp
The motor runs good on the pump as long as you keep it under 4750 rpm. Any more than that it will starve for fuel and then take off again after the carburetor bowls are refilled. I will be replacing it with an OEM pump but it will be enough to make some short trips on. The AD needs to be changed as this pump is only suitable for smaller engines. One last thing, the barb fittings on the pump are really poorly designed so get some good hose clamps. ... show more
