It makes getting in and out of the car much easier for my wheelchair-bound husband. Stores easily in the car door pocket and provides a sturdy handhold for getting in and out of the car. The strap wraps around the door and window space, but we don't use it as the handle does the job.

I needed help getting up from sitting in a car without injuring my caretaker, and this hook did the trick. I am unable to stand on my own, but with the assistance of this hook, it was a miracle! I just put the hook in the door jam of the car as pictured in the description and pushed down on it instead on my caretaker trying to yank me up. It worked so well. I haven’t tried the strap yet. My Occupational Therapist now recommends this item to her patients. I highly recommend this item. You and your companion will thank you!

The long strap is helpful as we were able to connect it to a headrest or any other strong structure but the handle for the car door is very unstable. The handle does not stay firm and moves around, if moved too far it just falls out, not the best corcustance for an elderly parent that needs the stability. I like the idea but something needs to make it a bit better and safer.

A bit awkward to use, especially the hanging strap, it has to come off after my passenger is in or it swings into her head. This is more the car design than the device itself, because it does help her. I am mulling over was to secure it so it can stay hooked up and she can use it and not be hit. I also need to figure out a way to store the metal door handle, she really only need that to get out, it is in the way trying to get in... but YES, it really does help her get out
