I was pleasantly surprised with the apparent quality of nearly all the tools in this modestly priced kit. I decided to experiment a bit before putting the tools to their intended purpose, but soon a key tool failed... The Hot Glue Gun felt more like a "Toy" than a "Tool," and after plugging it in, it heated up, and did seem to work properly. I then put it down on its stand, for about three minutes, and tried again, only to find that it was no longer functioning. Fortunately, a substitute was not very costly.

This is a small glue gun meant for small projects. If you need a larger, heavy duty glue gun this one is probably not for you. It takes awhile to heat up and cool down. It is small and can get in small spaces. If you are going to use a glue gun a lot then you probably want one that it instantly on. But, this is good for small projects and if you don't need one often. I am not a heavy crafter so this suits me just fine. It comes with some yellow and some black glue sticks.

I have a few projects going on where a hot glue gun would be of use, so I got this one. Its been years since I've had one, but this one is much the same only a little smaller. The photo I included shows using the black extra strong glue sticks to recover the base of my cat's scratching post with new carpet. I am really impressed with the holding power of this glue. It's definitely stronger than the basic clear hot glue sticks. I will for sure be buying more of those. For my observations on the gun itself- It is a bit smaller than glue guns I've had in the past; but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm not sure that it would hold up well to heavy use, but for basic crafting it should be fine, especially considering the price. But for more heavy duty repair projects that require a lot of glue, it might not last a really long time. Pushing large amounts of the stronger black glue feels like it puts a good amount of strain on the trigger, so that could be an issue over time. Overall, I think this is a pretty good little glue gun for the price. And they really come in handy for a variety of crafting projects.

You get a decent gun on the cheap with 5 yellow sticks, and 5 black included. The cord length cord be 3 ft longer, but I'm not complaining considering the price point. I got it for a few small projects that require it, and because it's a good item to have in the toolbox for those rare moments when it's needed. I would get something a little more robust if I planned on using a glue gun frequently, but for occasional usage this sticks to it's job, and does it admirably. It took a few minutes to heat up, and the tip flowed evenly, so I'm good.
