Product works well on general soil from traffic but it just doesn’t remove even with pretreatment. By the way the product is made to be used after using the pretreatment. If you do not have deep stains this is a good product to brighten and freshen your carpet.

My carpet is 23 years old, light beige, and has endured multiple pets and their stains so I managed my expectations that this product could not make it look like new. All I was hoping for was to freshen it and fluff up the pile. Honestly, I was really pleased that it did more than that. It took away the stale odor, reduced the stains, and did fluff up the pile very nicely. I followed the directions to the letter but I also added a carpet rake that I had from another cleaning. I would recommend doing the same. You have to vacuum multiple times to get up all of the powder/sand-like cleaner. But it’s far less messy and time consuming than renting a shampoo-er and I think the results are better. My room is 8x8 and there was enough to do the part of the room I needed - the rest is taken up by furniture. Also, I covered the area thickly. Will buy again 👍🏼

This product has totally removed every stain I have ever gotten on my carpets. Dog and cat messes, spilt wine, spaghetti sauce. It’s best carpet cleaner I have ever used. Once I used this one I won’t ever think about anything else.
