I was an after shave fan in college, but moved away from such products as my tastes refined and I wasn't finding a scent that I liked despite trying the major names of the time. Had I found Captain's Choice Venture then, I never would have stopped. I have been using it for a month now and love it. It has a clean, crisp citrus scent that is neither overpowering nor underwhelming. An ageless scent that gives sophistication to the young (I now have great gift ideas for my two, twenty something, sons) and an elegance to the middle aged.     • A good scent but not for me
This scent has a bit more staying power than most From Captains Choice, but still dies down relatively quickly. This makes it somewhat acceptable for places like the office, but still noticeable if you get closer to it. Like all CC aftershaves it’s got simple ingredients that perform well. The scent is clean and it’s well layered, but it is not quite my style. Another reviewer mentioned it smells like Axe and I tend to agree; although I’d say it smells like a much higher quality axe. Again this is strictly personal preference, and as I prefer sandalwood, Spanish leather, vetiver, and other musky/woodsy scents, this is outside my typical preferences. ... show more

I thought that Sandalwood would always be my favorite scent for aftershave; that is, until I tried Venture. The scent is hard to describe - it's a bright, cheery scent that wakens memories of aftershave scents long past. I breathe in the scent and suddenly I'm transported back in time to my grandfather's medicine cabinet and the aftershaves he used back then. It is also just as invigorating as the other Captain's Choice scents when I use it on my face after shaving - and even though my skin is sensitive, it is not overly alcaholic.     • The blend of scents smells like a $350 bottle of cologne
As a woman who never knows what to get a guy, I wanted to pick something unique my friend would never think to get himself. Having never smelled any Captains Choice products, I decided to take the risk. When I received Venture, I was shocked at how masculine it smelled. The blend of scents smells like a $350 bottle of cologne; I could see it blending into the Creed fragrance line. After putting a little on just to smell, I happened to head to the gym after.     • High quality aftershave with a great and unique fragrance!
This is my first time trying a Captain's Choice aftershave, and I have to say that I am very impressed! The scent is unique and the aftershave leaves my skin super smooth and hydrated.     • A new staple of my collection
I’ve tried a few of the other Captain’s Choice aftershave scents, but this specific one feels like a whole different beast. The scent hits you almost like a cologne, it’s a very fresh smelling ‘sophisticated’ and ‘manly’ scent. It still smells great and feels great even after repeated use (like the other Captains Choice scents). My only gripe is that it lasts about as long as the other CC aftershave products, so it’s more of a morning scent that shouldn’t be expected to linger all day. I wish it had a stronger scent. Don’t see the point of this aftershave if it’s this weak. In future I’m just going to get the cream to shave from same brand and maybe another brand aftershave like Nivea.
