Very durable hammer

I purchased this to use building a block retaining wall. I was a little apprehensive about how well it would hold up to heavy use but I am pleased to report it survived building 100' of wall, and I was really pounding the bottom blocks to set them into the base material. It's the perfect size and weight for this type of work and shows little wear. It will be put back to use next spring when I start phase II. I would highly recommend this product.

Hits harder and better than my snap on
It is 4oz heavier than my snap on deadblow ballpen but it packed so much more power and almost no bounce back. I just drove out 4 king pins in 20 minutes when it used to take me an hour or better. I have two other guys already ordering their own. I wil see what the long term quality is but for now I’m sold and it was 60 something bucks not 200+.

Not disappointed at all

Every no and then you need a little more persuasive means to get bolts to go through a connection on a bridge or structure due to paint or galvanized steel. I have always carried a smaller dead blow in my bolt bucket. When I saw this one I had to put it to the Ironworking test. Why hit a bolt 20 time when you can hit it once or twice. Bigger is better and I can say that this 6 pounder stood the test of more than a few Ironworkers driving stubborn bolts without damaging the face of the bolt or the surrounding steel. Great product IMHO and I have been doing this for 30 plus years and this dead blow is definitely a part of my bolting up kit when hanging bridges.

Quality made

Its quality a previous reviewer complained of small holes in the rubber... its a dead blow hammer not a work of art my gosh who cares u can hardly see them!!! As for the hammer it is great with the lead shot in the center it transfers the energy all to the hit object with almost no bounce back its almost like a instant double hit! Still i am a machinist and i use it to hit work pieces into my vise jaws to sit flat on my parallels.. it works but even with the huge 4lber i got u need to really hit it hard. I usually use a rawhide and that actually requires much less force to get it to hit the parallels! Though once i get it down and start to have issues with bounce and cant get both parallels tight the dead blow comes into its own. Its not the end all be allhammer its a tool that is useful when i need it. Other great uses *brake rotors rusty beat em off.. *capentry tonge and grove * anything where a hammer is needed but it is critical not to mark it up or damage it! This is great!! For a machinist i still like the rawhide better but most agree that a olastic type or nylon hammer works best. Stanley makes a orange obe that worjs excellent. This does work though

Things great to have but probably overkill. We cheer when the 6ft 330 pound ball up muscle asks to use it on a dually. Well made and has a hardness to it that feels structurally able.

Awesome textured handle durable head

Excellent hammer I use it for removing the tires from the vehicles that don’t want to come off. It’s very durable and it won’t mark ruin the rim.

Weighs exactly 6lbs

I just got this today and wanted to report that the hammers total weight is 6lb. I wanted a step up from Harbor Freights 4lb and this is all there is. Seems to be good quality and the grip is pretty decent. For the 2lbs extra over the harbor freight its about 6x the cost though. The handle seems to be a good length for the weight of the head.
