Due to COVID-19 my normally wavy short hair cut grew into 3a-type curls. I decided to keep the hair longer with curls, but noticed that I no longer can use a comb because it breaks-up the curls. I decided to see if a pick would help me add a bit of volume when the hair gets matted down at night. This Cantu pick does a nice job. I start at the root of the hair and do NOT extend it all the way to the roots to keep the curls. The size and the shape of the pick was not totally clear from the Amazon description, so here are the additional details: The entire pick is 6.75" long, the teeth are 2.6". The double teeth form an elongated "O" shape, I have included a photo of the pick in profile. The pick is made out of heavy-duty plastic, the teeth of the pick are rounded and not sharp, no problems if they touch the scalp. Ali Julia review ... show more

I have purchased several of these- they last forever and are a great product for curly hair that should not be brushed. Will definitely buy again. These are NOT only for ethnic hair- Definitely consider for any hair type that cannot be brushed or is too thick for combing.

Love this pick, and it's very good for the price. It does have double "prongs" which is something I couldn't exactly confirm from the pictures until I bought it. It is very easy to hold in the hand and use. It's not metal; I can't really tell the material but I think it's plastic with a smooth gray coating that makes it feel good in the hair. What an amazing little product. I received it, used it, ordered two more. Told my daughter and she has ordered one for herself and her daughter. I wanted it for ease of use and lift for the top of my hair, it works! So sturdy it should last forever.

This is not a bad comb. The material itself is actually pretty good in terms of texture/feel. It would do well in a purse or salon. Used one everyday carry for about 2 weeks or so, 50% of the tines snapped off. Not for any obvious *snap* reason either, just not made for it.
