The last time I received this product, it came in an envelope and the box was all beat up. When I went to use it, the color cartridge didn't last a week, and I did not print much in color. This ink is overpriced and lasts about a minute. I going back to laser printers. The amount of money spent on ink could have paid for two by now. I had a Konica Minolta color laser that lasted for years on the original toner cartridges. It was a huge beast though and had a paper jam that wasn't work fixing. I regret leaving it when I moved. It probably needed a new roller belt thing and would still be churning out color laser prints today. ... show more

I have tried using refillable ink cartridges but they are just way too messy to make it worth it. I do wish ink was cheaper but since I have to have it daily for my at home business, I really don't have a choice. Since I am forced to buy ink, I may as well buy the best I can for my model printer. I mostly print out pages for my blog planner on thick card stock and also shipping labels on label paper. I haven't ever experienced any smudges even right out of the printer. These cartridges last a fairly long time and I haven't had any issues whatsoever with them. They are easy to install, a breeze to remove and I don't get a drop of ink on my fingers. I've never had a problem with them malfunctioning (now that I say that, you best believe I will come right back here and update with the quickness if I do). This pack comes with photo paper but I never use it, I've actually got stacks of it in my office. If you have to buy ink, go ahead and get the Canon brand for your Canon printer - they are designed to work together and do it very well. 4 stars because it's so expensive - would be 5 if they would just lower the price of ink! ... show more

For $54 I don’t expect one of the cartridges to be opened and have all this white stuff on it (looks like ink or someone had paint on their hands). I’m running a business and every penny I spend counts. Then, they claim “sold as is” no returns 🙄 I better get a good use out of this color ink 🤨

    • For once cheaper than buying a new printer with ink in it.
Great replacement cartridge for the Canon printer. They arrived quick and it was nice to see that the ink was cheaper than buying a new printer with ink in it for once. I bought the cartridge about 4 months ago and it still has a lot of ink in it. As with most the color cartridge lasts longer unless you print a lot of color pictures or prints. Seems that most printer manufactures, sell the printer cheep but make up for it selling the ink cartridges. For a while I just bought a new printer with ink in it when the printer ran out because the ink cost twice what a new printer cost. Then I would buy the manufacture refurbished ones, but sometimes it would be hit or miss if they worked. Then I would buy the refill kits and refill them my self, they would work for a few refills but then would develop leaks or would just stop working.. These cartridges last longer than the ones that come in the printer and are from Canon. For home use they are great, at least for the printing I do. I don't know how good they would be for a home office with a high volume of printing, in that case I think I would opt for a printer with large ink cartridges. ... show more

with a College student in our home we have really been using quite a bit on ink. I actually switched and bought this Canon wireless printer because of the amount of pages we print and ink cost. We are able to print a ton of pages and the ink has been lasting forever! Even though the ink monitor keeps prompting me to change the cartridge, we have been able to continue printing. I will just keep suing the current cartridges until I actually see the print quality being compromised. The XL cartridges are the only ones I will buy. This combo pack also come with 50 4x6 sized photo paper as a bonus. I'm very happy with Canon products. I probably will not need ink until Summer courses. The price point is about the same as my local superstore, but I do alot of shopping online and this was much more convenient than having to run out to the store. I purchased this full price. This item came with the color cartridge bad. Produced an E05 error on the printer. I bought it in advance of needing it so the product return date had expired when I needed a new cartridge. I suspect the order was tampered with since the cartridge did not have the cellophane strip covering the print head. ... show more

I used one like that, it's missing magenta color altogether. Maybe it was sitting on the shelf for too long, idk. Still, it may have been a year or so, not like 5 or 10 years. I tried to clean the printer and the cartridge several times but no change. Can't use it now, wasted my money. 2 stars, instead of one, because in the past some worked without issues. Get the one in a white box with Canon letters or experiment with aftermarket ones instead. ... show more
