Top Amazon Reviews

  • I LOVE this printer!
I got this printer after reading many reviews and lists of "Best Scanners on a Budget", and I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with this printer/scanner. It's easy to use, the quality of the scans is great, the print quality is wonderful. I've only done 4x6" prints so far, from photos straight out of my iPhone5s, and as a pro photographer, I can say that I'll never pay for digital prints again. I wasn't able to print directly from the iphone through the wireless network. I guess the printer does not communicate that well with Apple hardware (which is no surprise), but I didn't try too hard, anyways. On Amazon it said that this is a discontinued model, but that didn't mean much, I guess, because I'm sure I'll still be able to get ink cartridges for as long as I have this printer. It scans in up to 600dpi and prints in up to 2400dpi. A lot of the printers only print up to 1200dpi. I wanted the printer for quality scans and photo quality prints, and it does both really well. The design is great, IMHO, I love how it looks. The setup is easy and pretty straight forward, specially using the provided software CD/DVD. I used it on both a wired and wireless networks, and it worked like a charm. The provided software is pretty good. I use it only for scanning directly into the computer, and especially compared to other multifunctional printers' software I've owned, like some HP printers/scanners, this one's really good. For the price I paid for this printer, I could not be happier with it, and I'd still be very satisfied even if I had paid double what I actually paid. It also has NFC, but I haven't tested it yet. The only con that I found so far is that sometimes it takes a long time to copy/print. I tried copying a document straight from the scanner, and it took more than 2 minutes (the size of a driver's license), making a bunch working noises along the way, which I found a bit strange, but eventually the print came out, and it was perfect. I don't know how long the ink cartridges will last, so I can't comment on that at this moment. ... show more

  • Nice Printer for the price, Go Canon!
Easy set up with almost no instructions. Prints wonderful photos, (deep rich colors) and makes great black and white print outs. This printer does a very nice job for the price. The paper feed trays are not what I expected, thought they would be more like my older MP500 one bottom tray and one paper feed rack in back. Limited space for paper. Loved the MP500 system, but I'll learn to live with it. Don't expect to get this printer in two days, it simply didn't happen, instead it took six days to get to me. One month later: I've now used the Canon MG7520 over a month and find it does a superb job printing photos even in standard mode. I love all the printouts this little printer produces, they are clear, clean and quick. Paper handling is an issue I had to get use to but it works fine. Even prints envelopes beautifully after you get use to loading them properly. The MG7520 consumes a bit more ink than I had hoped but I guess this is a compromise for the output quality. At this point, I am quite willing to endure the ink consumption considering the high quality printouts. Thanks Canon for another outstanding product. Two months later: The MG7520 printer is for anyone who enjoys printing photos for family or for display which is reasonably priced. The MG7520 does a fantastic job with photos. I am an amateur/semi pro photographer and am very pleased with the results I'm getting with this Canon printer. Wish the manual came with it, but again I guess if it did the printer would cost more. At $150.00 this printer is incredible considering the quality output. Highly recommend, easy to set up, great results. ... show more

  • More frustrating garbage from Canon
What an unmitigated piece of cheap junk. After my Canon MP640 died for no reason (known issue, they offer a paltry credit IF you are still under warranty) I sought a printer/scanner for my small needs. The best thing about the MP640 was the scan-to-USB function. Even though this unit has a memory card slot, you CANNOT scan to it. Would not have bought if I knew that I was forced to use Canon's oh-so-slow and functionally illiterate bloatware. For example, it gives every image you scan the exact same filename, and it greys out the "rename" function within its program, so you have to go to your file manager to rename every one as you do it. Thankfully, it does relentlessly remind you to buy more ink and other canon products. What happened to devices that just did what you told them to do? This suite of self-serving nagware exists solely to frustrate the user and pad Canon's pockets. While no wonderhorse, the Canon MP640 felt like a good quality product, with easy-to-use scrollwheel and buttons and reasonably solid construction. The touchscreen on the 7530 model feels cheap and sometimes takes several pokes to respond. Ditto the membrane "buttons" for power and bluetooth and home. And it is LOUD. When the door opens to let printed paper emerge, a separate extended piece swivels out. This feels flimsy and cheap and will probably break at the slightest pressure. Same with the lid to the scanning glass. Whoever designed the MG7520 did not bother to actually look at how people use it. The MP640 was easy to use, just lift the cover to scan. But when you lift the front edge of THIS ink-sucking paean to profit, it is actually the access lid to the ink cartridges. Even if you only open it a fraction and close it immediately it, it goes into its self-checking, ink-drinking routine. So you wait. And wait. And speaking of ink, I hope you bought plenty of the cheap knockoff stuff, because EVERY TIME you do ANYTHING (even shutting down) with this evil son-of-a-corporate-greedmonster, it goes through its cycling process (so SLOW, you have time tor a quick haircut), dumping ink into it's sump. I have not printed ANY color, and less than 10 black text pages since buying and some of my tanks are HALF empty. Thankfully you can buy ink very cheaply to feed this useless glutton. I will NEVER buy another Canon product. Oh, and the vendor will pester you repeatedly to post feedback. So here you go. The delivery was Prompt, but the product is utter crapola. ... show more
