  • Great price!

We buy our ink cartridges from Amazon as they are a great price for what we need. These cartridges seem to last forever and we do alot of printing. The ink does not smear and the printing is clean and clear.

  • Genuine Canon cartridge, lasted as long as claimed
Size: Single
This cartridge was indeed a genuine Canon cartridge. Some other reviewers have stated they got an off-brand cartridge, but mine was definitely the real deal, complete with a Canon-branded box that can also be used to return your old cartridge for recycling. If you somehow receive an off-brand, you should return it to amazon and inform them of the error. The cartridge indeed lasted as long as they claim. The ink is good quality, nice and black, and consistent til the very end of the cartridge. This cartridge contains the toner and drum all in one piece, which is why it seems more expensive. In the long run, you're actually saving money and hassle by not needing to replace the drum separately. It helps you easily keep your printer in great condition with minimal maintenance. The packaging of these is great. They are very well-protected while taking up a minimal amount of space, which makes the box as small as possible. Smaller boxes means less storage space taken up by your spare cartridge. As stated above, the box and its packing materials can then be used to send the old cartridge back for recycling. They include a pre-paid UPS mailing label, and then you can easily drop it off to be sent back. ... show more

  • Shut Up and Pay

The "starter" cartridge on my Canon MF4770 printer ran out of ink after a few hundred pages, so it was time to replace it. I decided on a genuine Canon cartridge. === The Good Stuff === * It works. It came well packaged, installed easily, and works great. Output is crisp and sharp, although I almost exclusively print text on this printer, so no great challenge. I managed to finish the job without making a mess or getting my hands all black, one of my measures for success. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * I never like the price of these things. The printer was only $130, so it is obvious that Canon gives away the printer to make money on the ink-so what can you do. I don't do all that much printing, so while I get upset when buying the cartridge, it really isn't all that big a deal. I didn't try any sort of refill/3rd party cartridges with this printer. Based on previous experience, I have just found them to be more trouble than they are worth. Your mileage may vary. === Summary === I hate the price of these things, but hate the problems I have had with 3rd party solutions even more. So I just hold my nose, pay the price, and install the new cartridge. Then I forget about it until it is time to replace it again. Not ideal, but such is life. ... show more

  • Canon cartridge is a must
Size: Single
I tried a knock-off brand of cartridge for my Image 4770n copier (which incidentally is a GREAT copier/fax/scanner) but the toner did not adhere completely to the page. Instead, it smudged and with a folded letter "leaked" to the other side of the page. The genuine Canon cartridge does not do this. I'm not happy with the price, even though this one was discounted, that's why the 4-star rating. But I caution the buyer about purchasing a knock-off/cheaper brand. In my experience, it has been wiser to go for the Canon product. ... show more

  • Lasted us 10 years
Size: Single
Got this ink for home use Canon Laser imageCLASS MF4880dw. It's been 5 years and I came to see when and how much we got the ink for ($70). I can't believe how long it has been (fingers cross no sign of low ink yet). Mother has an old printer that we need to go and help replace new ink every few months (getting tired of it) so we may give her our printer and we upgrade ours. Update: 8/30/20 Looks like it's time to order a new cartridge for backup as the current one I'm using was purchased on Nov 7, 2014 is showing signs of low ink. Still prints and readable but the top left corner is a bit light. Last time the seller was Amazon Service. I saw many 1 star reviews and to be honest a bit nervous to reorder. But this ink is now lasting close to 6 years. Update 12/22/2021 Well, the ink I ordered last year is still in its box! I took the ink out and shook it a few times, stuck it back in and have been using that with "Toner nearly out" blinking all this time. I do have to turn off the printer as it won't go to "energy saving" mode with error message. update 11/12/2023 FINALLY that day has arrived for me to change "low ink". Woohooo!!! The ink I bought is now 3 years old, but hey it still works. I probably went overboard when I purchased the printer, more printer than what I needed. But I'm happy not having to worry about running out of ink. I know this will last me another 10 years because now I don't have to print directions anymore like I had to 7 or 10 years ago. Everything is in digital format or I screenshot things, but it is still nice to have a printer when you need something on paper. Thank you, Canon! ... show more

  • Highest quality sold or available, gives many copies, highly recommended.
Size: Single
Canon OEM 128 toner cartridge is the way to go. I've learned over the years not to use re-filled or generic ink cartridges for my printers. Years ago had two printers "go bad" by doing so. I realize the Canon brand is more expensive than generic, but it's the highest quality you can get, not of a questionable nature. My Canon laser printer was not cheap, I will not use what might be inferior cartridges. Amazon seems to have the best price on it as well. Staples had it for $103+tax, Costco $91+tax. Highly recommended. And it gives many copies, so worth the cost. UPDATE 3/29/2013: My Canon "starter ink cartridge" finally ran out, so we replaced it with this purchased one. The starter gave us hundreds of high quality pages, never any toner dust, smudges, or mess of any kind. Canon also gives you a pre-paid shipping label (UPS) for returning the empty cartridge for recycling. Again, HIGHLY recommended. ... show more
