  • A lot of camera
Style: Body Only Set: Body
I've been using prosumer cameras for 30 years. I decided it was time to replace my 13-year old Canon 7D, and I chose the Canon R6 Mark II. I'm very happy with it. I was considering buying the R8, but when I held it, I realized it was too small to fit comfortably in my hand. (I'm just an average size guy, with average male hands.) The R6 Mark II is 1/4" taller so it fits my hand better than the R8, plus it has a better viewfinder (especially important for glasses wearers like me), plus it has in-camera image stabilization. To me, those were the features that justified the extra price. Compared to my old Canon 7D, the new R6 Mark II has *much* better focusing, better resolution (more than the extra 6 megapixels would suggest), and shoots in much lower light. With the 7D, ISO 1600 was the highest I could go if I wanted good image quality, but the R6 Mark II can easily go up to ISO 12800. Heck, even ISO 56000 works for casual use. The camera has TONS of customizations. So if you like to tinker and read user manuals, you will be in heaven. One of the cool new features is focus stacking. This lets you take a close-up picture of something and get the whole thing in perfect focus, front to back. The camera takes many individual shots, each at a slightly different focus point, and stitches them together in-camera. It works best with a completely still subject and a tripod, so I won't be using it a lot, but it is cool. I was wondering how much I would like the electronic viewfinder, and it turns out I prefer it over a "real" viewfinder that older DSLR cameras like my 7D have. The biggest benefit is at night because the viewfinder is brighter; this makes the camera easier and more fun to use. ... show more

  • Mindblown
Style: Body Only Set: Body
I originally had a Canon 5Diii and 5dii which are still great cameras but when I got my hands on this mirrorless, I was completely mindblown. The quality of the images are insane. The navigation of everything is insane. This camera itself is just insane. I'm more obsessed with the fact that you can see your settings change in the screen and I love that. It has made my job a BREEZE. If I had the financial means to I'd buy a second! ... show more

  • The best camera!
Style: Body Only Set: Body
But this camera! There is so many features to this camera. A little bit of a learning curve but watching YouTube videos helped me set the camera up. Let’s talk about how amazing the focus is on this camera!! Being mirrorless it makes the photos appear sharper and more digital looking. If you edit on Lightroom decreasing the texture, sharpness, and clarity can give you that creamy look back. Overall great camera, worth the money! ... show more

  • Great Hybrid Prosumer camera with lots of features
Style: Body Only Set: Body
9 years in photography, mostly weddings and portraits and graduation. I shot with a 5D Mark IV for the last 6-7 years. It's a great camera but when mirrorless technology came I wanted to move forward eventually. However Canon wasn't nearly stepping up until the past two years. The R5 was a little out of my budget and EOS-R had only one SD card slot (wtf Canon, one slot?!). The R6 Mark 2 fit between the two. The original R6 lacked a decent amount of megapixels but when the R6 Mark 2 released, with the nearly 25MP I was content with that. I finally took this one out to a few events and a few portrait shoots. Pros: -Face detection, pet detection, vehicle detection, all types of detection for AF. -Extremely fast shooting speeds (great for sports photography) - 6K video and long filming times (longer than my 5D MK4) -Great low light performance, outshines my 5D -Numerous extra features which make taking photos so much more pleasant Cons: -AF can get confused sometimes (I was at an event and it was wanting to focus on a flag on the wall even with People AF selected, huh?). -Not the camera, but CANON PLEASE LET 3RD PARTY COMPANIES MAKE RF LENSES ... show more
