  • Zoom lens no working correctly! Gritt or sand in lens!
The lens does not work right! grinds like there is sand in it and makes a grinding noise and seems like it never fully focuses... lens appears to be damaged and will not fully focus!. They said it all functions as new .. BS!!. I Cannot use auto focus because it keeps jumping out of focus? Other thinks that are really disappointing, SDI feed will not show up in OBS for live stream equipment without putting it on interlaced which looks horrible streaming. 120FPS only works in slow motion mode, the 4 audio tracks are a pain in the butt and bogs my computer down, taking extra time to render and extra steps to disable tracks 3 and 4 with every file I make .. taking me 7 extra steps just to turn the open audio off or down. Old canon batteries don't work with this camera! There was no lens cap if you want to store the cam .. and this camera does not have a component video out to hook up a monitor, just HDMI which has delay and cannot be used to film sports, which is a deal breaker .. I want my money back!! . So sad I will have to go back to using my Canon SF305s for the rest of my events this year ... worthless $8000 investments with SD cards .. ... show more

  • I was a loyal canon customer, but trust me when I say this is a terrible purchase
I'll be blunt, I am devastated I spent so much money on this. After years of video making, I decided to treat myself to a professional level camera. I had been working with a Canon 5D mark ii and a GH Lumix. I got this thinking it would blow them out of the water. NOPE. It has a very poor lens for its price, LOTS of noise. I've tried every setting, the footage just isn't great. My 5D Mark II gets a better picture. 4k footage uses weird codec which cannot be edited, I asked canon about this in multiple phonecalls and they always said 'it's not our fault, blame adobe and sony for not using our amazing new codec. And to top it all off, it has corrupted footage a few times. Neither canon nor B&h photo will let me return this as I went past my 2 week return policy, even though TO THIS DAY the footage cannot be edited. I am never buying canon again, and to be honest I hope they go out of business. Every other camera company is making them pail in comparison, go with a cheaper alternative. ... show more

  • What's not to love?
I feel bad for all the people that had bad experiences with this camera. This thing is great for grab-and-go filmmaking. If you don't have time to put on different lenses or grabbing different filters, this camera is for you. I use a BP A60 battery with it and it allows me to shoot for hours. It's got a clean crisp image even with the digital zoom. Its buttons on the side really help be even faster at shooting a great image. ... show more

  • Excellent
Not sure why previous reviewers have had so many issues with this camera. I can only guess they haven't read or understand how to use it. Simply put, this camera is amazing. Editing footage with Final Cut or Premiere isn't an issue. If you're in the business and can afford this, you know how to convert/edit the footage without missing a beat. ... show more
