Use it for a chihuahua and a min-pin. Both had allergies issues. Scratching, licking and shaking her head. This Canidae pure petite, is the only one that works for the past 5 years. No runs, coat shines, eyes never run and loves the food.

I recently switched my small breed dog to Canidae PURE Petite Limited Ingredient Premium Small Breed Adult Dry Dog Food, Lamb Recipe and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Both my dogs are prone to food allergies and sensitivities, so finding a high-quality, limited ingredient food was a priority. Canidae PURE fits the bill perfectly, with a short list of whole ingredients and no fillers or artificial additives. Since switching to this food, both my dogs' coat have become softer and shinier, and they have more energy and a healthier weight. They also seems to enjoy the taste, as they eagerly finish every meal. In addition to the great nutrition, I appreciate that Canidae is made with high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients and produced in the USA. My favorite part is the small kibble size is also perfect for my small breed dogs' smaller mouth and teeth. My dog likes this food and is excited when it's time to eat. I mean he also eats deer poop, but he definitely likes this dog food. I have also tried the lamb and chicken and this one is definitely his favorite. I go by the fact that there are time he won't eat the other foods and just gives me this dejected look. Like, not this again. The food is packaged in some pretty sturdy plastic, you'll need a knife to cut it open. I figure the packaging keeps the food pretty well preserved. No good built in way to reseal the bag, it would be a nice touch to have a way to empty the food without cutting the bag open, maybe a nice twist off cap on the side of the bag. From all the things I've read on the internet, this food is of good quality. It's a brand that consistently ranks well and is reasonably priced when compared to similar quality dog foods. I went to a dog food site that shows the nutrient break down and it looks decent. Not all filler. The dog's in generally good health, nice coat and skin. My dogs like this food, but I literally have to sift it in order to get them to eat it. There's way too much crumble in it like dust and sometimes if I don't sift it, they cough from inhaling the tiny crumbs. I'm wondering was this a bad bag, or always like this 🤔

This kibble was exactly what I was looking for. My 4 year old Chiweenie is a picky eater, and other small size kibble I bought never seemed to suit her in either taste or size. However, this kibble is slightly larger than rabbit food and is just the big enough for the dog to understand that they have to chew it and not just swallow. As far as the taste is concerned, I'm not going to give it a first handed try, but it appears that it is flavorful as my Chiweenie devoured the entire meal without hesitation, so "NO TRANSITION TIME NEEDED." Since this is a limited ingredient premium dog food, expect a higher cost per feeding; here is the breakdown: * As of 07/14/2020 the 10lb bag is $33. (subscribe and save is 5% less at $31.34) * Per feeding instructions, you can expect to feed a 10-15 pound dog for 75 days. (1/4 cup 2x per day) * Based on the 10-15 pound dog per day cost is $0.44, $3.08 per week, $12.32 per month. So, if you want to feed you dog with premium ingredients and not break the bank, I suggest trying this product. And, if you are like me and think 1/2 cup of dog food per day just doesn't seem to be enough sustenance for an active dog, you can always throw some vegetables in with the feeding.
