This creamy chicken soup is crafted with farm-fresh cream, chicken stock, and tender chicken meat with no antibiotics to provide a deliciously smooth foundation to any recipe. The result is a heart healthy soup with 50% less fat and 50% less sodium than our regular product. Use it as an ingredient in recipes like Healthy Chicken Enchiladas, or substitute it for roux or bechamel as a sauce starter. Campbell’s convenient canned soup is a year-round pantry staple and a must-have for creating something quick and easy. It's also delicious on its own or with a sandwich or salad. Simply mix the condensed soup with 1 can of water or nonfat milk and microwave on high for 3 to 3.5 minutes, or heat in a pot on the stove, stirring occasionally. Each 10.5 oz recyclable can contains about 2.5 servings of microwave soup. (While many factors affect heart disease, diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of this disease. My husband is on a soft food diet for a while and this soup is perfect. I use unsweetened soy milk instead of water to up the protein. It has half the salt of the regular soup. No msg or hfcorn syrup either. I lightly scramble an egg and chop it up very small and put it in the soup for added nutrients. It’s kind of like adding tofu or noodles. You don’t really taste the egg but it gives the soup some body. I scramble it with a dab of butter and a teaspoon of olive oil. I’m trying to add calories to his diet too. I also add black pepper and celery powder, not celery salt. He eats a few saltines with it. It can be difficult to supply nutrients and fiber to an ailing senior. He likes plain hummus and I also rely on mashed bananas mixed with a good nut butter. Kirklands creamy almond butter is a healthy alternative to peanut butter. Other good items to consider are almond meal mixed with unsweetened apple sauce and whole full fat unsweetened Greek yogurt with a tablespoon of real maple syrup mixed in. ... show more
