  • Great size and can operate with one hand
Keeps contents cold for a good amount of time and is easy to operate with one hand for ease of use. I did have an issue with spilling but that was my fault cause I sat down with the bottle still in the open position and it spilled some water before I realized what happened. The open loop makes it easy to attach a carabiner to it and attach to my messenger bag for hands free transport. Overall great item and would buy again. ... show more

  • Very nice to sip from. Very easy to clean.
Color: Wild Strawberry Size: 20.3 Ounces
I really love this travel mug. I’ve been using Coleman’s travel mug for years and years (since before they bought it from Avex - well, I was using Avex’s travel mug and then it was purchased by Coleman) and I recently lost the top to my bottle and didn’t want to spend $55 to replace the whole thing, so I tried this CamelBak Forge Flow. I purchased a Contigo Westloop at the same time. I MUCH prefer the CamelBak to the Contigo for a number of reasons. One silly one is that there’s a rubber bottom on the CamelBak, so when you set it down on something, it’s quiet. (It’s also less likely to slip) The Contigo is all metal and when you set it down, it plinks! I also like that the lip where you sip on the CamelBak is deeper and also thinner than the Contigo. For me, it means a more comfortable sip with less chance of spilling. Both travel mugs seem to keep things similarly hot (I use them for coffee, so no comment on how cold they keep things.) The CamelBak is also easier for my arthritic fingers to clean - the same mechanism that you press to sip, pressed more forcefully and for longer will pop the top fully up so you can clean all under there. The Contigo is accessed through the bottom of the lid and it’s more difficult for me to operate. That said, neither one of them have any way to protect the top from dirt or insects when not in use (the Coleman has a little lid that you can flip over the mouthpiece — very handy), and neither one of them keep coffee hot as long as the Coleman. Still, I really like the CamelBak and give it 5 stars. (Also, with the little loop on the back of the lid, it’s a lot easier to carry than the Contigo.) ... show more

  • I really want to love the new Forge Flow. But... I really want to love the new Forge Flow. But...
Color: Black Size: 12oz
I fell in love with the Forge I bought about 3 years ago. So much so, it was my Holiday gift to my family and friends. I was heartbroken when Camel Back stopped selling them and was elated when the new Forge came out. So I bought the 12 oz version which fits perfectly under my Coffee pod machine and which helps me from putting so much Java in that I float to work. So the smaller size is a star as well as the heat retention (seems as good as the old version about 2-3 hours YMMV), no spills, fits great in my car's cup holder. But... unlike the older version the lid's gate (is that the right term) is not intuitive. The old version's gate had a button on top of the locking mechanism that you pressed to keep it open and then with a little pressure closed. Smart. The new version has a button on the side which you have to push and in my case, check to see if the gate opens. I had a slight dribble problem on the new version on the back side below the lever. This I resolved by waiting a moment after taking a drink. As you can see from my pics, my old Forge is still good to go, and gets its use on longer rides. Oh did I mentioned I bought a second older version when it was available for cold drinks? You can never have too much Sun Tea on a summer road trip. ... show more

  • Great Bottle With Solid Insulation
Color: Dune Size: 20.3 Ounces
The CamelBak Forge Flow has been a great addition to my daily carry. The build feels sturdy, and the insulation keeps drinks hot or cold much longer than I expected. The lid mechanism is easy to use and genuinely leakproof, which is a big plus. It’s convenient, reliable, and comfortable to hold. For the price, it’s excellent quality and has worked well for both travel and everyday use. Definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Leaks, unlocks accidentally, lid stains
Color: Navy Size: 16 Ounces
I am so sad, but I hate the new design. It does keep coffee hot, and the powder coating on the mug part is an improvement over the old painted metal, as the paint wore off, but other than that, it is horrible. I had an original forge, and it was the best. It never leaked, stayed closed, was just functional. I don't know why they thought a design change was needed. After 15 years of solid performance, I dropped my original forge and cracked the lid. Initially I tried to get a lid replacement, and to the company's credit, they sent me 2 new lids for free. Unfortunately, they were the new style and did not fit on my old mug. So I decided it was time to order new mugs. I ordered 3 new mugs since I couldnt decide on one size or color, and they all have the same issues: Coffee leaks out the back. I constantly have it dripping down my hand, it leaves rings of coffee on my desk, it drips on my shirt and pants. It is horrible. There is new a locking mechanism that allows you to lock it open. This is just stupid. If I wanted it to stay open, I would by a different style of mug. But fine, maybe some people want this option. The problem is that the lock will inadvertently slide over without my knowledge, locking it in the open position. Twice I have dumped coffee all over because I thought it was closed. Once the entire contents drained onto my bed before I noticed. If this is going to be an option, the lock should require some pressure to slide open, it should not be so loose it happens unintentionally. The part that slides back and forth on the lid used to be hollow In the middle and made from a smooth plastic. The new one is solid and flat, and made from a rough plastic. Why does this matter? I am a woman who wears makeup. The new version means the top part presses against my nose when I take a drink, and my makeup rubs of on it, ruining my makeup. The makeup also stains the lid, and the new style plastic does not come clean. They old style easily wiped clean. There is a dot of makeup staining the lid on all 3 that will not come clean. I regret purchasing 3, I miss the old version, it was my ideal travel mug. I cannot recommend this mug. ... show more

  • Favorite water bottle replacement
Color: Moss Size: 16 Ounces
I usually just use it for water but it keeps my water nice and cold and it's also the perfect size for mixing in flavored water packets that I use to hide the taste of my creatine and other supplements. I've never had a spill (though you do have to be careful to let the lid close while still drinking so you don't leave the liquid on the outside of the seal). I also really like that the bottom is padded with rubber so it doesn't make a bunch of noise when I set it down. I liked this so much that I purchased a second one to leave at work. So one goes back and forth from home with me in the car and the other stays at the office to get water from the cooler to avoid wasting water bottles or cups. ... show more

  • Not Leakproof
My experience is that the current redesigned version leaks frequently when drinking, often spilling when releasing (closing) the valve and putting the mug back down on a flat surface. The prior design seemed to work better. One needs to be mindful when using the mug to avoid spills when drinking.
