  • Listed width dimension is much bigger than actual size!
TLDR; For someone looking for an insulated metal water bottle, these are really great. Comfortable to carry, water stays very cold in high heat. Cap can be a little finicky, but not a deal breaker. Beware that Camelbak lists an incorrect width dimension of 3.7 inches, when in reality it is more like 3.25 inches. I really like these bottles. They keep the liquid cold for very long periods, even after being left in the car during 100 degree days! Great for those long days running errands. I attached a picture of the spout, and it may be hard to see but it has just a little bit of tilt on it, which makes it more comfortable to drink from than a straight spout on something like a Takeya, which I also own. The chute that I received has the new magnetic lid on it. I do like that the lid gets held back out of my face automatically when I'm drinking (especially when the fluid level is lower), but it does seem like the cap is harder to remove than the cap on the non-magnetic lid, which I also own. (I use a lot of these insulated water bottles!) I'm hoping that I will get used to it, but I have owned this bottle for just over a month and it hasn't happened yet. It also seems like it takes more turns to remove/replace the cap than the non-magnetic version. And since it's not that big of a deal for me to hold the cap back with a finger while I'm drinking, I actually prefer the old non-magnetic version. Unfortunately, those caps will probably be phased out. Bummer. The handle is just a little bit rubbery feeling, which makes it easier to hold, but I could use just a little more cushion there. Since my bottle is 32oz and when full, it can be a bit heavy, I think that carrying it for a long period while walking would probably start to hurt. Though I have to admit, I haven't actually tested that yet! The only actual real issue that I have with the bottle is the width dimension. There were some discrepancies here on Amazon so I went with what was listed on the Camelbak website, but even that is incorrect! Camelbak listed the width as 3.7 inches so I bought that size silicone sleeve for the bottom of the bottle (before receiving the bottle) - and it's way too big! Using a ruler, it looks to be about 3.25 inches. This does make it easier to hold, though! Even with the incorrect width dimension and the finicky cap, these are still a great buy. I highly recommend these chute bottles. If you find this review helpful, please hit the "helpful" button below - it encourages me to write more reviews! ... show more

  • What happened!?
I have 3 of the old design and absolutely love them. This new design with new cap is a complete let down. Ice does not even stay for 12 hours. I used to be able to put ice in the previous version ONCE and it would last at least 36 hours. Now I can't even make it through a day on one ice fill. And I fill it to the top with ice prior to putting in cold water. So disappointed! ... show more

  • Much better design on the lid
I love these bottles! This is my second 20oz (The first is still in perfect condition, I just wanted the cool new lid) and I just ordered the 32 oz which will be the perfect in between size for when I need more hydration. I agree it's not cool that the description says dishwasher safe but then the bottom of the bottle says it is not. I can handle hand washing my bottles so I am okay with that. *Update -2 stars.. The cap went from a half twist to a full 360° twist to get it off. Huge fail in my opinion *2nd Update - Back to 5 stars. You get used to the new lid. I love it. ... show more

  • Unexpected new design/arrived dented.
Overall: if you want a monster-sized water bottle that should last you half of the day (I drink a lot of water) and is durable and attractive, this is a great buy. I’ve owned dozens of refillable water bottles and this is my favorite. I’ve had two Camelbak 40 oz. Mag Chutes in the past, both of which I’ve loved, but unfortunately lost. Yes, I realize how hard it is to lose such a large, heavy water bottle, but I digress. I ordered this one after having lost the previous one and noticed that there was a new olive color available. I gladly purchased it. When it arrived, there was a dent in the bottom of it from shipping, but Amazon offered a partial refund. Likes: - The new magnetized top is an improvement in the old design, where you had to carefully wedge the top in the lid if you wanted to hold it open. This one just sticks. - The “finger loop” (my words) used to carry this thing is now wider, enough for 2 (or 3 if smaller) fingers. The old one allowed for only one finger. When the old design was full, it got pretty heavy and I often worried about it shifting and breaking my finger. No such problems here. Dislikes: - The new mouthpiece lid seems harder to close. I used to be able to completely and confidently screw on the lid of the old design with one hand. It was great when driving. This thing takes more effort. I have to double check the seal every time I close it because this seems to want to cross-thread and LOOK as though it is closed when it is not. On two occasions this thing has leaked and completely emptied, once on my car seat, once on the floorboard. 40 ounces of water is A LOT of water to have leak everywhere. ... show more
