They aren't the prettiest (clearly plastic) and aren't the sturdiest looking, but they've held up really well for me for the past few years. They are tall enough that I can keep them in my backyard without my dogs getting in them, and are strong enough that they can handle soil if you accidentally use soil instead of potting mix. Draining is decent, but not great.

I purchased the planter with the extension about 2 years ago. It has weathered the Arizona sun, and freezing temperatures, with no damage at all. I originally placed the self watering panels face up, but found that it retained too much moisture, and attracted fruit flies. I started over, and turned the panels holes-down, so water drains out. That works fine. This year, I placed 4 separate square planters inside. I used the VEVOR Plastic Raised Garden Bed planters, 15.7H Flower Box Kit, for that purpose. They fit perfectly. (I left the plugs off to allow for drainage.) Assembly was a little challenge, just because I did it by myself, but certainly nothing I couldn't think my way through. If you can assemble furniture, you will be fine.

Just received so I can’t attest to the true sturdiness of this planter. I had to assemble it myself, not so easy ... don’t own a drill or driver which would make a HUGE difference. So there are holes for the screws but only where they enter, lots of manual labor to actually screw a hole through the other side. Then of course you run the risk of it not being aligned. Even with the trouble it took I still love the planter. Exactly what I expected. BUT wasn’t crazy about the planter feet not having a smoother contact with the ground, also making it very difficult to move. Couldn’t find casters for the feet that were the correct size so I came up with another solution, and now it slides nicely (still isn’t filled with soil yet). If you look at the picture the feet have a very finished look .... switch plates!!! Cost less than $5 and moves nicely on indoor/outdoor carpet. So happy to finish off this beautiful planter with a very easy and cost-efficient solution. Didn’t give 5 stars because it was so hard to make holes in the plastic and there are a lot of holes.

I bought this planter for summer vegetables to keep rabbits from getting into them. It’s very nice looking and sturdy. Overall the outcome was good, however, it was difficult to put it together without a drill, electric screwdriver, or a second person to help. I wish they had holes drilled all the way through so the screws would go in easily. The outside hole is drilled, but not the part where the screw grabs the heavy plastic second part. Also, I didn’t see the section in the instructions about putting something under it while assembling so it won’t scratch until AFTER I already scratched it! Oh, well. Additionally, if you don’t measure where the screws should go on the bottom slats, it’s likely to be assembled slightly crooked. Once it’s assembled that way, it really isn’t a good idea to try to move a screw to fix it. Anyway, as I said, overall it’s a very nice looking and sturdy product which I expect will last for many years. I hope the company upgrades those few things so it’s easier for the next person to assemble.

It was a little more difficult to assemble than I thought, but I did finally get it right. I had too many pots for my herbs and the yard looked cluttered and messy. I bought a few of these and planted all my herbs in them. I gave away all the pots to our local Centennial Gardens. Only criticism is that it was manufactured in China. The screws were not of good quality and I had to purchase all replacement screws since one after the other of the screws provided literally was squashed. Metal too soft.

We put this together easily using a power drill with a phillips bit, not necessary but it makes life easier. We gave up using the level, and square to get everything straight and even and just eyed it. Looks great. It's sturdy and I'm sure it won't stress it at all when I put our huge, ages old Christmas cactus into it. It's probably 100 to 125 pounds. I did drill a few more drain holes into the bottom panels. I'm sure their drain system works just fine, but I wanted lots of drainage. It did have some nasty scratches on one of the long outside panels, but they sanded out easily. Since I plan on painting it, that was an easy fix. We plan on inserting wood into the hollow legs to allow for casters. When you live in a hurricane zone things need to be movable. Highly recommended.

My husband purchased 2 of these for my birthday. One was very easy to put together; the other, the holes were misaligned, making it impossible to put together without creating new holes. So, disappointed with inconsistent workmanship. They do leak on the bottom, a lot, and there is no easy way to catch the overflow/drainage to keep it from splashing and staining the white slatted bottom shelf. Keeping something on that bottom shelf is only possible if you don't mind it getting wet and dirty. The white obviously will show the dirty water residue, and it splashes when it hits. It seems like a leaky roof. As soon as I but a bucket to catch a leak, another leak pops up. The water splashes and causes the white to stain. I am trying vinegar to keep it white, but it is a huge chore. We got them so I wouldn't need to bend to garden, but to keep them from looking awful, I have to bend A LOT to clean. It would be a good idea to design it with a drainage hole that could be set up to make catching the excess water easier - so the whole thing isn't a mess. I want to love it, the one that went together is great, but still hard to keep looking nice.
