I initially received a faulty device, where the batteries needed to be replaced every week, whether it was used or not. Eventually, I got a replacement device from the company, which I am quite pleased with. It works as well as breathing techniques work. The device is not magic, but I have found it extremely helpful because I find deep breathing difficult when I am anxious, and this device takes the thinking out of the equation. The device with the faulty battery unit was quite frustrating and it took me quite a while to get it replaced. It might not sound like a big deal, but the device needs to be taken apart with a screwdriver in order to replace the batteries, and the issue seemed to be getting worse over time. It's a real pain when you're reaching for the device and the batteries are already going dead, even though you replaced them a few days ago and haven't used it since. I had the malfunctioning device for a total of 3 months. Initially, I received a comment on my review here requesting that I contact them for a replacement, but I reached out to the company twice through their website and never got a response. I only got a response from the company when I went through Amazon's complaint system. The customer service rep that I reached through Amazon's complaints was very helpful and responsive. But I do not think they should have a help form on their website that they do not appear to monitor at all. Apart from all that, I do not find their scented units add much to the device. I have tried all three scents, and they all are very strong at the beginning, but then very quickly the scent becomes muted. The lavender scent mutes to a scent that smells very sickly to me, so I don't even use those. I'd like to experiment with using an essential oil as a cheap way to scent the pads once every week or two, but I won't be buying any more scent pads from the company. Overall, I think it's a good device, but some aspects don't appear to be ready for prime time. I do not know how common the battery issue is, but if you receive a faulty device, I would recommend going through Amazon for a replacement instead of contacting them directly. Edit: I've had this device now for 8 months, and I lowered my review by one star due to the price. I have different devices that are not the same as the calmigo, but that I use far more when I have anxiety and cost me less money. For example, a throat irrigator like MyPurMist or VocalMist, or a Pranamat massage mat. These are NOT the same thing as a Calmigo, but they were all less expensive and things that I find more effective for destressing. $180 is really steep for this device. It's fine, I still use it from time to time, but if you are on a budget and looking for effective ways to destress, this isn't the first product I would recommend. I feel like a major selling point of this small and portable device should be that it is discreet and easy to use in public, but it really looks like you are having an asthma attack while you are using it. Most people will think it's an emergency inhaler because that's exactly what it looks like. So it isn't really that discreet, in my opinion. I wouldn't use it in public, out of fear of a stranger approaching me to try to "help" me. The device itself does calm me down, but sometimes I suspect it's really just making me feel light-headed? I don't know. It's a tough sell for $180. Edit2: So it's a little over a year later, and this device has been unused for quite a while. I now believe that the only way to effectively manage anxiety through breathing, is to train yourself to consistently breathe in and out through the nose, which is incompatible with the Calmigo, which requires you to breath out through your mouth. I'll leave the rest of the review as it is, but I would not recommend this device. To start, I recommend looking into Breath by James Nestor, or looking up Patrick McKeown's work.     • Only Xanax has worked for me. This pulled me out of a spiraling hyperventilating episode.

I bought the product pretty sure I was going to return it. Xanax is the only thing that works and I'm on (4) .5 mg pills every 3 months because it's a very controlled substance. But I deal with anxiety 24/7 now because I'm pretty sure my body is stuck in this state. But Xanax doesn't help like it used to. And there's no way in hell I want to up my dosage because it's HIGHLY addictive. My goal is to not need it at all. The Drs tell me I have PTSD and severe anxiety/panic disorder. I was prescribed every type of antianxiety medication until they moved on to antidepressants and all of them had HORRIBLE reactions. Some I slept during lunch at work instead of eating because I couldn't keep my eyes open. This product actually stops the spiraling, not sure if that makes sense to you.. But panicking goes from starting to panic and progress to oh my God I'm going to die and I can't get enough oxygen.. I've tried meditation, every daily drug you can think of and NOTHING helped. It's such a simple idea but it works. Today is the first day I didn't hate every hour of the day. Thank you. My job is very important to me and I actually have hope that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Something about the lights that make sure you're exhaling enough, to the vibration, and the smell... It takes over enough of your senses to help. If you start to shift back to the anxious position it doesn't work. The lights don't complete and it doesn't vibrate. I don't know why but that helps too ... show more

Believe it or not this product really helps in the early moments of a panic attack. I’ve had panic attacks for the last 20 years and while I’ve undergone CBT Therapy to lessen the severity of my symptoms, I still need some help getting to that place of calm and collected when I start to get a wave of panic. Calmigo provides this help- and provides a good mindful breathing meditation if you want to use it during the day periodically too. Bonus: it looks like an inhaler and I think that helps camouflage the fact that you are having a panic attack somewhat. ... show more

Thought it would do a better job, but no, not worth spending that much money for it, I returned it and got my my money back. It just helps the breathing exercises, you can do them without this device.

This little apparatus has been a godsend! It has helped take my anxiety level down maybe as much as 75 - 80% and that is an incredible gift to me. I have had severe anxiety for the past two years due to circumstances in my life and have tried everything including meditation, increasing my prescription medicine, CBT, breathing techniques, cds etc and nothing helped. I didn't just have attacks, I had it all day long and sometimes I could barely function. I only saw CalmiGo advertised when I went online looking for more ways to help myself and I read as much about it as possible and it sounded like it might be legitimate and I was desperate so, given the reviews and the refund guarantee, I went ahead and ordered it although I really did not think it would work. Anyway, after a consultation with their representatives, I managed to use it properly and it actually helped me-- it took about three days to kick in and then I noticed my anxiety levels decreasing and I had long periods during the day with no anxiety. I kept using it and have had it now for maybe a month and it has been like a miracle. I did think it was expensive at first and hesitated to order it for this reason but it has turned out to be more than worth it. They have a staff to help you and they get back to you very quickly unlike most companies where all you get is incessant menus and never reach a human being. The product is well made and it is easy to carry and use and is discreet although that hardly matters to me because I don't care what it looks like if it relieves my anxiety. I don't know if it will work for everyone but it is based on sound principles and it has been a miracle for me.
