I love this board. I’m mostly just a cruiser, who occasionally Ollies, or does (attempts) a shuv it. But I’ve been around and have been obsessed with skate culture and am knowledgeable of skate products enough to know whether or not it’s decent. This is more than a beginner board. It’s very sturdy, has great pop, the bearings aren’t the best but certainly decent enough, the wheels are about that way as well. The trucks and hardware I’ve been relatively impressed with. My only one small critique is the paint they use for the graphics doesn’t hold up very well, after doing a couple Ollies, and just basic riding, I was missing a good bit of paint off my nose and tail, but it’s a skateboard if it isn’t scraped up, you’re not using it lol. I’m. Heftier guy weighing around 255 pounds and I’ve had no board flex or twists, it feels very sturdy when I hop on. The grip tape is excellent and very grippy. I love this company and will buy again, for 45-55 dollars for a complete you can’t beat it, even if you’re going to change out the trucks, bearings and or wheels it’s unbeatable. I bought this complete only because I liked the graphic. I was EXTREMELY surprised when I rode it for the first time. This deck is WAY better than any other inexpensive deck I've come across. And the trucks actually turn, unlike most others. The wheels aren't bad. The bearings on the other hand, they weren't the best out of the box. I pulled them out, took off one shield and cleaned out all of the grease. Every review of cheaper skateboard bearings I've seen say that they don't spin. The problem is that most bearings are made for industrial use. And they pack them full of grease. If you clean them out, then lubricate them with some light oil, they spin well. Some cheaper bearings have a metal race. The better ones have a plastic race. Or you could buy some Bones Reds to swap out, that'll be easier. But for what I paid for this complete, I was REALLY happy. I'd say for a beginner or anyone who just wants to ride, this is a great board. I'll probably buy more Cal-7s in the future. ... show more

Not bad for a someone who’s just starting to skate, grip tape isn’t that abrasive so your shoes won’t get ruffed up too much, but abrasive enough for the board to stick to your feet. Bearings are a solid 6.5/10 they roll and get the job done. For the wheels, it’s advertised as 99a duro but from the feel i’d guess they’re about in the low 90’s, around that range cause they feel pretty soft. My dad bought his for me and I love it it’s smooth great quality and amazing for beginners so happy I chose this it has helped me improve my skating so much!One thing to know this isn’t meant for bumpy-ish streets it works just isn’t very fast,which doesn’t change anything as it not meant to be for streets but if you’re looking for a street board and you’re streets aren’t the smoothest you should go find another one other than that love it😋 ... show more

    • Great board! Best bang for your buck.
This board was built by skaters for skaters. Constructed using 7-ply Canadian maple, it rivals all standard and pro boards. However the trucks that it comes with are not quality. Kind of like the cheap batteries that come with a toy when you buy it, they should be replaced with better ones as soon as you are able. That being said, the wheels and bearings are just fine. It's light, sturdy, has good pop, good grip tape. What more can I say, buy it. ... show more

I bought this for my 9-year-old daughter since she wanted to learn to skate (I'm old, I still skate) and it is an impressive board; I can find minimal differences between this board and my board (which I've had for years and cost a lot more) and if/when it's time for a replacement, will be picking up one of these (and replacing bearings, which are the difference). Great entry board due to slower bearings, solid deck and nice graphics; would highly recommend! ... show more

I got this skateboard as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old. She specifically wanted an all black board so she could personalize the bottom with her name and all sorts of stickers. This board “understood the assignment” perfectly. It came fully assembled and ready to roll, and that’s what my little girl did! It’s very sturdy though at some point we will replace the wheels just for aesthetics. I even got myself on it for a few strides and the feel is very steady with just enough give for easy maneuvering. It’s definitely not a board for advanced or sport skaters but it’s perfect for beginners and casual skaters. Very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

This board is 100% made in China. Cal7's head quarters is in California but all there products are made in china. Didn't relies this till after I got the complete setup. I just finished a session at my local skate park. I have skated this board for three days in a row. Its definitely a good beginner skate board setup for cruising and learning the basics. I give it a 3 star rating. Pros: Deck is a 5 ply maple deck with medium concave. Nose is bigger then the tail, with a classic popsicle shape. I like the simplistic small logo and blank deck. The grip tape is good, nice and gripy. Wheels are OK 52mm kind of small for me I like 54mm or 56mm for my wheel size. Hardware is good just nuts and bolts. Riser pad is a nice to have. Cons: The trucks are cheap. The kingpin sticks out past the hanger. This is dangerous when trying to grind anything because the kingpin will stick and you will slam. When tightening the trucks the bolt of the kingpin sticks further out, tighter you go the more dangerous it gets. The bearings say abec7 they do not feel like abec7 more like abec3 or old abec5s. They don't spin well. This board would be good as a very first skateboard for cruising, don't plan on learning how to grind with these trucks. I would buy a deck from cal7 again, but I would not buy trucks or bearings from them. ... show more
