    • Decent general purpose, low profile stand
The folding of the stand saves space, certainly, when the stand is not in use. When it is unfolded and ready to take a guitar, it is unobtrusive. It is when you actually place a guitar on the stand that it might be an issue. The arms at the bottom of the stand, which support the guitar, are sturdy and stable, but the notch intended to accommodate solid-body electric guitars is a bit farther "forward" than I would like. This results in the guitar laying back too much, and requires that the stand be placed further from a wall that would otherwise be required. It's a decent stand, reasonably sturdy, and can accommodate both acoustics and electrics, but the "lay back" angle for solid body electrics is too great in my opinion. Also, the little rubber (actually, "soft plastic" is a better descriptor) pad, against which the guitar body rests, is kind of flimsy, and, I expect, prone to being liberated/broken/lost if used in any kind of "working band" scenario. If you're an at-home noodler like me, this is an OK choice. If you're earning money as a player, you're better off spending that money elsewhere, I think. ... show more

The stand works well if used properly. I’d prefer if it has a lock to keep everything from folding while opened to make it more sturdy.

Admittedly I was a little nervous about using a small fold up stand, but one of my friends used this type of stand and recommended it, and it was fairly cheap so I went for it. I can't speak to larger guitars but it holds my strat fine, and after using it for a while I have no worries about it falling over or anything. ... show more
