This violin has turned out to be a fantastic choice! The tone is surprisingly nice, especially for an instrument at this price point, and the finish gives it a classic, yet polished look. The overall build quality feels solid in the hands, and it really does inspire confidence for someone just starting out. It’s an instrument that looks and sounds far more expensive than it actually is, which makes it a great value for the money. That said, I did run into one small issue right out of the box. The fine tuning peg on the G string was cross-threaded and not actually making contact where it needed to in order to tune properly. At first, I thought the string itself was the problem, but after a closer look it turned out to be the peg. Fortunately, it was an easy fix — I just removed it and re-threaded it correctly, and from there everything worked exactly as it should. Now that the peg is corrected, the violin plays beautifully. The sound is warm, it holds tuning well, and it feels great to play. If you’re looking for a beginner instrument that delivers both quality and value, this is an excellent option. Just be prepared to make a small adjustment if you run into the same issue I did.

This has been a great product to evaluate and review. Don't overthink it, just buy it. The student will appreciate it, and the teacher will appreciate it also. I originally wrote a very long and detailed review of every single component of this set, but then I realized that doing that was totally missing the point of offering the set - no worries, no over-thinking, and at a price that you won't regret if it turns out that the violin playing isn't for you. I found every element of this set to be perfectly fine for beginners to produce nice sounding music under the guidance of any competent teacher, or even *maybe* with CAREFUL watching of many instructional online videos. The only thing absolutely missing from this set is an adjustable-height music stand. And, IMO, a clean toothbrush. If you think that I'm joking about the toothbrush, just ask your teacher.

I was looking for a starter fiddle and this one does that job for me. I had a friend stop over and help me prep it, put the bridge up, adjust the strings and get it ready. Would be nice to have some set up instructions, but otherwise a friend or youtube can do the job. She said this was an Okay instrument to start on but probably would be replaceable over time as you progress as a player. We were able to tune it and it held onto it's tune decently but not perfectly, but might take some time to settle in. Aesthetically it is a very nice looking, with wonderful wood. Build quality is okay but definitely not top of the line. My friend was able to get decent sounds out of it, and some day I hope to be able too. But for the price, this is a great way for me to play with a starter instrument and it looks like it will be everything I was hoping for.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great idea. We have one household member who is naturally musically talented that e got this for. It is a fully functional violin out of the box with chin placement and the bow. It also has an electronic tuner and all that's needed to tune the strings. Did the beginner, it has a diagram that fits under the strings for finger placement. Very complete. We already got a "Oh wow!". This is plastic, so it will not be perfect, but it's a great instrument to see if there is genuine interest while practicing.

We got this CAHAYA violin kit for our 6-year-old daughter who's been curious about learning an instrument. As a beginner setup, it's incredibly practical, coming with everything she needs: the violin, bow, rosin, a shoulder rest, and a sturdy hard case, which is crucial for keeping it safe in our apartment. The solid wood construction feels surprisingly decent for the price, definitely not like a cheap toy, and I appreciate that it should hold up to some initial learning bumps. She's been taking virtual lessons, and having a complete kit ready to go has made the whole process much smoother for us. While the sound quality isn't going to impress a professional, it's perfectly adequate for a beginner, though it does require pretty frequent tuning to keep it in pitch, especially early on. For the money, it's a really good value to test the waters of violin without a major investment.

Tbh, idk anything about violins. But, when I saw this I knew this was my chance to learn. This is a nice beginner kit, the only thing that could be better is a beginners learning booklet. The instructions are easy to follow, except for how to put on the shoulder piece, and everything looks like it’s made well and with decent quality materials. One thing is there was a random broken piece of wood inside the case (see the last pic), I wasn’t able to find anything it might’ve come off of so I presume it was attached to something or someone’s hand as the case was being packed. Overall, I’m just excited to finally have a chance to learn. And have the ability to do so with everything I need. The instructions says there’s a second bow and a second rosin block, there is not. There’s an additional set of strings, and a digital tuner (but I’ll be using an app).
