Best coffee pods ever for the original Nescafé pixie machines as well as the fancier Nespresso Breville capuchino / late machines. Yes as others have pointed out the capsules and partly plastic instead of all metal like the Nescafé ones but I’ve tried them in both machines above and have even given them to family members and it works fine on all of them. Sometimes they DONT release all the way after being used but I just push the used one down when putting the new one on. The flavor! The aroma! The crema! As a Cuban guy I’ve drank espresso coffee all my life. I own double boiler capuchino machines. And of course the little stove top moka machines that many Spanish and Italians use. This is as close to that as possible in less than a minute. Make it a double if you want. Love it Love it. Wish Pilón Supreme would also make capsules like this. And it is a fraction of the cost of Nespresso capsules. So now I have tons of leftover Nespresso sleeves sitting there while I make these bustelo ones. (Sorry Nescafé, but these are stronger AND more flavorful than even the Cubita capsules). ... show more

    • Some of the best nespresso pods out there, period.
I have tried almost every offering from nespresso themselves as well as illy, lavazza, and pete's coffee pods. The bustello pods produce the most crema and one of the most well rounded flavor profiles of any of the pods I have tried. The illy pods are tied for flavor but they just don't make the kind of crema that these bustello pods do. The lavazza pods have a tendency to shoot water out before your coffee and get quite a bit of grounds in your shot with weak crema and acrid flavor. The pete's coffee however was the worst of any I have tried, the shots were watery and a pale brown instead of rich brown espresso color and there was little to no crema, they tasted absolutely awful (stay far away from the pete's nespresso pods and buy these or the illy ones trust me) ... show more

My husband and I like it better than the nespresso capsules which says a lo because we loved the nespresso capsules. This is not for the faint of heart. It is strong! If you like Starbucks capsules, you'll probably think this one is too strong. However, that's what makes it soooooo good. The taste is smoother, not bitter. It makes a lot more foam (crema) and thicker foam than other capsules. I reccomend you mix it with milk to make yourself a latte if it's too strong. It makes an great latte or cafe con leche. ... show more

    • Great coffee, doesn’t fit well in machine
I love Cafe Bustelo coffee. It is bold, very flavorful, a terrific way to wake up. I used the ground coffee for years in typical coffee makers, then used the equally-wonderful K-cups versions in our Keurigs, and I was very pleased to see this great coffee in Nespresso pod format for our Nespresso machines (two: Expert and Lattissima One). So far, it’s all good. However in making coffee in the two Nespresso machines, these pods do not seem to seat as well as other brands causing leaking around them into the used pod drawers and thus less coffee in the cup. No idea why this happens but it is consistent and not a one-time irregularity. This happens in both Nespresso machines, one of which (Expert) automatically loads and unloads the pods, and the other (Lattissima One) is loaded/unloaded manually. And it has happened with every one of two packs of pods. I’ve taken Cafe Bustelo off the Nespresso list and just make them with the Keurig now. ... show more

    • Wow, the expected strong flavor
Was slightly worried about the couple of reviews that stated that it didn't fit properly in their machine. I have a Nespresso Citiz & Milk and have had no issues. My wife, son, and I are astounded by the deep and strong yet smooth and not bitter taste! Exactly what I would expect from Cafe Bustelo. At 50 cents a pod it is significantly cheaper than the now normal 85 cents a pod from Nespresso. At about 40% cheaper, this is a no-brainer purchase. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Pods stopped working
I love the cafe Bustelo pods and had it on a monthly subscription-based delivery. Until recently. Not sure what changed with the packaging lately but my Nespresso machine is no longer able to fully pierce through the pod seal. The machine pierces some holes and in other areas, it leaves the imprint but doesn't pierce through all the way. The machine starts to pour strings of coffee and stops at the midpoint. Pressing the start button a few more times after it continues to stop just to get to a cup of espresso. Thinking it was a problem with the machine I tried other brand pods (non-Nespresso to test it out), and the machine worked perfectly (as usual) and provided a fast cup of espresso without stopping mid-way and no coffee grinds on the cup. To get the Bustelo cup, I have to manually pierce a few holes with a cocktail (small) fork before putting it into the machine to get it to do one cup without stopping. However, this is not ideal as coffee grinds are mixing in with the brewed coffee because of the bigger holes. Note that this happened with the first order. I ordered another batch and still the same frustration with brewing. I've gone through 80 of these pods all with the same problem (should've quit earlier but I wanted to give this a second chance since I liked the coffee). Cafe Bustelo please look into what’s happened with the pod seals. Until then I’ll have to switch over to La Llave pods or expensive Nespresso arpeggios. ... show more

Very good and much cheaper than Nespresso brand capsules. My wife and I performed a blind taste test between Cafe Bustello and Nespresso Arpeggio, both sans cream or sugar. It was very hard to tell the difference, so the test took a while. In the end, we both chose Arpeggio, but the difference was so small we both decided there was a good chance our choices would become random if we did multiple tests. Note in the picture that both have good crema, and the pods worked perfectly in our $99 Nespresso Inissia machine. Cafe Bustello will be our routine purchase from this point forward. ... show more
