This bag is very well constructed. The side pockets are easy to access, and it has a healthy number of smaller pockets to organize accessories. The velcro separators it comes with allowed me to create a secure easy-to-access pocket for my Nikon DSLR with plenty of space left over for a couple of lens add-ons and my filters in the main compartment. I can actually fit all of my accessories, charger, etc. in the bag if I don't mind the weight. The strap is somewhat short for me (I'm 6'2"), but I found a company called Strapworks out of Oregon that sells extensions for a very reasonable price. I purchased a 1-1/2" wide 2-foot extension with the standard black plastic clip and added it to the bag's strap. Now it can be made as long as you could possibly want. After a very pleasant communication with the company about the strap length, I got the opportunity to try out their messenger style camera bag (Caden DSLR Camera Bag Shoulder Messenger Bag), and I have to say that it is fantastic. Not only is the strap plenty long for a tall person, the bag is extremely versatile with lots of different size pockets and external stretchy netting for water bottles whatever else you might want instantly accessible. The construction of the messenger bag is just as solid as the sling bag and is made of an attractive grey canvas. The lid flips over the top and latches like a typical messenger bag, but there is also a zipper on top for quick access to your camera. Pros: +Compact, light: Being small has it's advantages. Packs up real tight. Great for situations requiring only one camera a a few lenses. +Customizable: All the "walls" inside the primary storage are velcro'd on both sides so you can move them how you want to fit your equipment best. +Designed to sit across the front: I found this useful as it can provide quick access to your camera without having to take it off. Also useful for situations where you're carrying a backpack (camping gear or laptop for school), this sits across the front, hands free. +Waterproof storage if you keep the poncho with it. Cons: +small: It's compact and light because it's small, but if you have alot of equipment to carry around, this is not for you. +Only waterproof if you keep the poncho over it. I'm an amateur photographer, so my equipment literally consists of one mirrorless APS-C camera (canon m6 mk2) and a zoom lens. I wanted a solution that would be easy to carry with me anywhere I went, whether that's on vacation, a hike, or camping in the woods. I picked this up because I'm an amateur photographer and wanted a bag to suit my current needs, with room to grow, but also be super portable. I have one APS-C mirrorless camera (canon m6 mk2) and one lens (18-150mm kit lens). I also keep my battery charger, cables, and memory cards in this bag. Perfect size for a outing. I live next to the ocean & this bag brings comfort in that my camera is protected & easily accessible. Note- how the bag hangs/placement on shoulder, I swear my gear feels lighter. & especially liked the personal like note from the company regarding warranty & replacement.

    • Nice bag — pictures slightly deceiving

I am pretty new to photography, when I started I got a day backpack which I have gotten a lot of use out of but I wanted something smaller for when I didn’t need the extra room in the backpack. The bag is super well made and I definitely feel safe carrying my camera and lenses in it. I have a small mirrorless camera (m6 mark ii) so I can fit quit a bit inside which I like since I am still figuring out lenses are best for what circumstances. If I was still using a full frame camera and bringing my sigma 18-35 I probably would be able to fit much more than that in it. The sling style is easy to carry and easy to access stuff in the bag and the strap has a lot of room for adjusting however you like. I will note those flaps people have mentioned that leave a lot of room for wetness and dust. I live in the desert so it wasn’t a huge concern for me as far as moisture but I do worry about dust. I feel like if I make sure to close it up tightly it will be fine. I will update this review since we are entering windy season in New Mexico which = lots of dust, if it is a problem. I do wish the front pocket was slightly larger, roomier. I was hoping I could fit my essentials from my purse in there but it is a really tight fit and my wallet doesn’t really fit well. The photo shows the bag with the front completely removed. This is not how this bag works. Only the two side flaps open. It can be a bit much to get it arranged how you want but since I have it is ok. I do wish they opened an inch wider or the bag had an option to open the front. Overall for the purpose I bought it I like the bag, it is about as compact as you can get while still having plenty of padding and being able to fit what you need and it also just looks like a nice casual bag which makes me feel safer carrying around a lot of expensive equipment. ... show more
