  • High Quality Audio cables!
Size: 6 ft
These are well built cables that carry a clean audio signal, no hum, no distortion no issue. That's more than I can say for some far more costly cables. All good news with these cables, no complaints on my end.

  • well made great sound at a bargain treated with silclear
Size: 10 ft
for the price extremely well made. sound good on my budget used hifi system under 5k but new retail 30k will definitely get more of their xlr versions compared to MIT proline no difference did we hear in testing. no bad noise sources or long runs tested though.

  • A Truly Convenient Game Changer
Size: 10 ft
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this by saying that I recently changed my entire DJ setup. The reason why this is relevant is due to how these cables are used. My new setup is 1 EV Evolve 50, and 1 EV Evolve 50m. These cables are nice and thin, and due to the fact that they’re thin, I wouldn’t use these with my previous setup where thicker, more rugged cables would be wired up to my speaker pole mounted speakers. I have a Numark NV2 DJ deck which has dual XLR outs, as well as a PV AT10 BT mixer for live sound nights, but, in an effort to simplify my life on DJ only nights, I decided to get a lighter Numark MixTrack Platinum FX. The problem is, that doesn’t have XLR out, so I’d have to run RCA cables to one of my Evolves, then run an XLR cable from one into the other one, and then run a custom profile to put one of them into Left and Right out, and the other one into Right out only, then adjust the Aux in volumes on each one to reduce the noise that occurs from using RCA cables. There’s also the fact that when using RCA cables, they don’t get the added benefit of higher decibel speaker output due to the lack of any form of grounding pins that XLR cables provide. I’ve tested my XLR outs to ins on the EVs with the NV2, then the standard RCA cables, and the volume out was lower with every setting the same on my laptop, DJ deck, and Evolves. Then I used these RCA to XLR cables, and since they’re short, they don’t have the standard RCA noise issues. Those issues were prevalent in even my thickest shielded standard RCA cables that already provided less noise than thin RCA cables. The sound quality on these Cable Matters RCA to XLR cables is absolutely superb. These RCA to XLR cables gave me a 2.5 decibel gain with the same exact volume settings across my NV2, laptop and Evolves. More specifically, they also allowed me to finally use my extremely light MixTrack Platinum FX DJ deck. Since they go from my flight case to the ground level Evolve Subs, the 10ft length is perfect. I can now setup on DJ only nights with less back strain, in all of 7 mins, since I use a wire hiding cube with a 12 outlet surge protector, so there’s only 1 wire to the wall, and that’s it. Both of the EV power cables are in that box already, along with my laptop power cable. The power brick is velcroed into my flight case under my DJ deck. Once I’m done for the night, I unplug the XLRs from the EVs, then leave the RCA ends in my MixTrack, wrapping them back into my flight case. The thin cable makes them light, and keeps them from getting tangled. I’ve never had any issues with Cable Matters cables in the 7 years I’ve been buying their cables, largely due to the custom all black cables they sell. I’m not sure why some reviewers claim they blew their speakers. That makes no sense because these cables don’t carry any power signals at all, nor can they be used as a substitute for DMX control cables. The only thing traveling through them is literally the sound signal. The only thing that can cause issues is improper gain staging, where sound is set up in the wrong order. This can happen with ANY set of cables, even if they’re XLR to XLR based. The are only a few things that can cause severe speaker damage, one of which is running your speakers too loud, and the EVs have built in limiters to prevent that. A speaker damaging pop can also occur if you turn on your speakers BEFORE you turn on your laptop and mixer. A power outage can also cause this issue if a surge protector isn’s functioning properly, or it can also occur if you cut off the main power before turning off your laptop and mixer first. Again, this is common sense knowledge about self powered PA speakers. If you’re DJing and you don’t know this, then you can’t blame your speaker cables for that. Many of the aforementioned issues, outside of improper gain staging, are the result of a surge going into the speakers from the power outlet. That being said, I gave these cables a perfect 5 for everything except sturdiness because thin RCA to XLR cables aren’t going to be as rugged as thicker traditional XLR cables, but that’s the case with any thin PA speaker cables, XLR or RCA based. I love these cables because they literally simplified my life on DJ only nights. Since getting the Evolves, and then adding these cables, I booked another 2 nights at my local venue because of how fast I can setup and tear down. There’s nothing else that can be asked of any DJ product then that. With these, when using my cart, I literally only have 1 trip from my SUV to any place where I’m DJing. ... show more
