  • Excellent quality cables and connectors
My experience with Cable Matters is hit-and-miss, but these cables are fantastic: the connector and the housing are excellent quality; all 5 SATA power wires are employed (as opposed to only 4 on some other cables); the wire itself is 18 gauge, as advertised - enough to handle 120W, if you have to. The wire itself is pretty supple (especially considering the thicker gauge) and you should have no issues routing these in and around tight spots and bends. ... show more

  • A proper 5-pin SATA power splitter cable
My primary reasons for buying this cable splitter kit was to get a splitter that also passed the 3.3V power signal, as well as having a minimum of 18AWG wire. Upon receiving and measuring them, my requirements were fulfilled. The wires are 18AWG multi-strand tin-plated copper. Well suited for powering hard drives and SSD's, this product excels for that purpose. Anything more increases you risk of fire. Basically, do not use these power cables to run power to a GPU. They are not capable of safely performing that job over the long term. ... show more

  • They work
Nothing too special really, unless you need it. It's not like you can just go to a store and pick one up anymore. I bought a old rack mount server on-line, and even though it has six SATA connections on the motherboard, it had only two SATA power connections. These solved the problem for me, and they seem to work just fine. ... show more

  • It does it's job well. No thrills, included
It's literally what it says it is. It's higher-than-normal quality SATA Power Y splitter. I plug this from the SATA power cable from my PSU to either 2 2.5-inch drives or 1 3.5-inch HDD and 1 2.5-inch SSD. It works as intended. I'm actually using this for my DIY home NAS at the moment. Solid piece of kit ... show more

  • Quality product for a decent price.
Have purchased a lot of sound system/home theater cabling from Cable Matters, so I know their products are of good quality. This did not disappoint. Exactly what I needed to install some new hardware in my computer, made the job painless.

  • Does the job as ordered!
To be honest, SATA power splitters are not really meant to be used long term. They are good for a short term fix until a better solution can be acquired (bigger PSU). That said, these splitters were perfect when I was over a barrel and needed more connectors in a hurry.

  • These work great
In recent PC builds we've made the move away from 3.5" HDD's to multi SSD based systems. With an adapter like the ICY DOCK Triple 2.5 to 3.5 HDD Drive Bay SSD Mounting Bracket Kit - MB610SP and an additional PCI-e SATA controller we can add so many drives to the case. These are high quality and work great. No complaints. It's always good to have a few laying around for the next build and/or upgrade ... show more

  • Uncommon Use, Uncommon Quality
I've had no problems with these cables. Normally this type of cable is an install, dress and forget item, but not in my case. I use them in PC diagnostic testing and repair of components on a daily basis. I usually buy these locally, for a little over half the price per unit, and have to do so every couple of months. These have been on the benches for 6 or 7 months now and they don't show any signs of stopping. I bought these based on price, not my usual MO. I'm glad I did, it couldn't have turned out any better! I highly recommend them! Thanks Cable Matters!! ... show more
