These inexpensive mics have really impressed me. Are they perfect? No, they are not. BUT, they ARE an incredible value. I have long believed that Cable Matters makes some very good cables at a very reasonable price, and I have many of them in my inventory. I was surprised to learn that they had microphones available as well... so why not give them a try? These mics are not SM58 look-alikes which in my mind is a plus. The 58's are a dated design and these are reaching a little more towards modern designs in that they are very similar in appearance to the Senheiser line of vocal mics. That's a nice departure. So how do they sound? Well, they sound pretty good! They have the same generic microphone capsule I see in most microphones in the sub 50 dollar range, and that is important to note, because that you can compare these microphones to MANY mics on the market that cost a LOT more than these do. In fact, at the time of this review, you can get FOUR of these microphones for the price of ONE similar mic from a more popular brand. And these have the EXACT same capsule. That makes these a REAL bargain. Now, the mic capsule in question here has the eaxct same ISSUES with handling noise as the other brands as well... only with these, you pay less, which makes that mechanical noise considerably less objectionable. Anybody that has read any of my other microphone reviews will know, that I have a love/hate relationship with microphones that have on/off switches for stage use. In other words, I love to hate them. This microphone does have a switch, and you guessed it, I hate it. I wish these companies would make these inexpensive mics WITHOUT the switch. They are nothing but a nuisance for a sound engineer. Save the money, guys... we don't need the switch and we don't want the switch! So here's the funny part about this microphone package: They are made by Cable Matters... and the Cable they have included with these mics is nothing special, and is actually not as good as any OTHER cable I have purchased from this company. It truly doesn't matter, to be honest, because I need XLR to XLR cables anyway. I just find that funny. HOWEVER: They do NOT include a microphone stand adapter clip. I wish they would DITCH the SWITCH, and the cable and INSTEAD toss in a mic clip, but that's not a HUGE deal. Well, maybe a little. Anyway... it's a decent mic, a very very good value and it may be tough to beat at this price. I'm not gonna give it 5 stars though... I want a couple mic clips and I hate switches... there, I said it!

Okay - so not terrible or the worst ordered in the past however, compared with other mics these are seem to not be as loud. Even with adjusting sound volumes on our machine it just doesnt sound the same as our previous mic - like you have to overcompensate the sound settings to use. Not sure if I would order again.
