This mug was great for me as a frequent tea drinker. Often when I'm busy, I'll leave the tea steeping for too long while I wait for the tea to cool, resulting in tannicky tea. With this mug I'm able to have my tea shortly after it steeps, allowing me to get a more true representation of the tea flavor. A big fan of this mug and use it daily.

You should read what this mug is for, I didn't and now I feel like an idiot! I was excited to try this until I tasted my coffee. I always heat my coffee in a cup for 30 seconds and then it's hot enough for me without burning my mouth. Knowing I cannot warm my coffee in the microwave in this mug, I first used a normal cup that could be heated. I poured the coffee into this mug and took a sip but was disappointed to find the coffee was Luke-warm. This didn't make sense, so I transferred the coffee back and reheated it in the microwave and poured it back. It was warmer but not hot, so I poured it back to my normal cup and heated it once again. I did not realize it was pulling the heat out, so I rinsed it with cold water, put in some water and ice, closed the lid and let it sit. I forgot about it for a couple of hours and came back to see if it was still cold. It was and there was still some ice in it. At this point I figured it was transferring the heat or the cold between the layers of the stainless steel. I thought this was a bit absurd because I like my coffee hot (not scorching) until I re-read the product description. "Quick Cooling" Insulated Coffee Cup...OM and G! Knowing this I have to say this product does "exactly" what it claims! If you have a more delicate palet than I do and cannot deal with hot coffee, this product is for you!

This mug does EXACTLY what is advertises it does. So while I recommend that you pay attention to that advertisement as written, I couldn't be happier with it. I'm someone that drinks teas that need to be steeped at high temperatures and then can't stand to wait for them to cool, so this mug is perfect for me as it brings it down to temperature within a few minutes. It has honestly spoiled me and I love that. It's incredibly sturdy and weighty in the hand, the color is wonderfully saturated and pretty. I love it. Would make a great gift if you have another impatient hot drink person in your life like me haha

Overall it is a coffee mug, according to directions it uses nontoxic, non-BPA material so that is good. It didn't really keep my coffee any hotter or colder than a regular cup does. I guess if you stir it right away and put the lid on it can keep it warmer, but to me, it just seemed like a regular mug. The lid also traps water under the part that opens and closes which is a bit annoying to clean. Also, the opening to the lid is a bit sunken in the lid which means it can be a bit harder to drink from without spilling or having excess coffee get trapped under the switch that opens it. In my situation, I can't even use the lid, due to facial paralysis, so covering it and lifting the cover to take a sip is a little inconvenient. Overall a fine mug that didn't really keep my coffee any hotter than my other mugs.
