Although this arrived 2 days late, it was well worth the wait! Immediately after opening, I put four coats of Howard cutting board oil on it with one coat of Howard conditioner applied so far. 3 to go. The conditioner requires overnight first coat and an hour between the next coats. Quality is amazing and if I buy another butcher block this is where I'm purchasing from. Highly recommended! If cared for correctly, you can pass it on to your kids and they can pass it on to their kids. Great product Howizz!!! Sorry I couldn't give it 10 stars. Update: I uploaded a photo of all the oil and conditioning complete. Minus the final buff. Then it's time to install it on the table legs and we're done. ... show more

I could saved $10 if a comparable product at The Home Depot. But that product would have required 2 cuts for a proper fit. This product required only one cut. The quality is superb and arrives well protected. Before varnishing, use a lightly wet towel so the wood spurs a bit. I used 180 sand grit to smooth out the piece with a varnish. I had to sand again but with 220 grit afterwards. I applied 3 more coats. The results were stunning and I’m well pleased. This product got 4 stars. It would have been 5 stars if I was allowed to buy a customized size, but that was not available. ... show more

I could not be more pleased with this 72" x 25" butcher block top. It arrived quickly, and was very carefully packaged, escaping the damage of similar items in the past. It is very heavy. The construction quality is perfect with edges carefully finished. At 1½" thick, it is rock solid, and arrives well sanded, ready for sealing. The manufacturer recommends polyurethane, or tung oil, depending on the use. I used tung oil, giving the top a very light sanding before application. It took two coats, with 12 hours between applications, and it was ready for use. With a set of electrically adjustable steel legs, it is a home base for a 3D printer setup. It makes for a rock solid workbench, but would be equally at home as a kitchen countertop. This is a premium quality piece, good for years of use. ... show more

I was actually shocked by how worth it this was. I was concerned it would come chipped, warped, cracked, or just some level of imperfection. But there was none. I ordered two. They were packaged very well and sealed well. I will 100% buy this again for other projects.
