Took a while to get my office totally done, it’s a process but am so happy with it and get a ton of compliments on the desk. Modern style yet also timeless. I went with Ashgrey to straddle the grays and browns, especially later when grey is not so trendy. Overall assembly went well. Take your time, read and follow instructions thoroughly. A couple of my panels were not labeled with part numbers but easy enough to figure out. I did have one chipped board and manufacture service was excellent. Took some patience to get drawers adjusted to be straight and glide nice but that is what it takes, patience and they are awesome. Changes I made: swapped out smaller screw heads on drawer slides to make glide a little smoother and quieter. Added drawer tray (shown in picture) that rides on top of drawer to fit 2 layers of storage, Cut down the keyboard shelf to use to hide my pile of active work papers/to do at end of day rather than keyboard. Cut hole in back of computer cabinet to run chords. Desk is spacious, very functional, nice quality/value. Love the color. I think Bush is better manufacturer than Sauder for similar price range. All hardware seems nice quality. Feet are plastics, but they look nice. I would definitely buy again. ... show more

The desk is very good looking and sturdy. Like others I found the directions to be very confusing. Desk comes in 2 boxes and my first delivery I only received 1 box even though it said 1 of 2 right on the top. Had to wait an extra week to receive the full desk and fight to get a return and exchange. Installation was confusing and the directions are horrible, it's very unclear which screws go where in the directions. Also disappointing that a $500 desk with a computer tower compartment doesn't come predrilled with a hole for wiring. Overall happy with the desk but was a giant pain dealing with shipping issues and bad instructions. ... show more

    • Very nice desk
I was very pleased with the speed of the shipping. The desk arrived one day before the expected delivery. It comes in one box, but I would recommend two people lifting or moving it to where you need it to be as it is very heavy. Not all of the pieces are labeled so you will have to have a good eye and a basic understanding of how to put furniture together to match everything up. The instructions are not hard and come in two sets. There are two options for putting this desk together. You can reverse the location of the tower compartment and the filing cabinet to the left or right. This desk took me 2 hours and 20 minutes to put together working at a sluggish pace. I built furniture for a living for 3 and half years. Had I been putting this desk together at work, I would have completed it in an hour to an hour and a half tops. Since this was for personal use, and I had the whole day off, I took my time. I would suggest for people that do not have the same background to set aside 4 hours for assembly and you will probably need the help of a second person for at least 2 of the steps. I read the reviews for the larger version of this desk and the people that assembled it complained of it being extremely difficult to assemble. I can assure you, it is not that complicated, so don't let them scare you off. I have one problem with this desk that I knew I would run into as it is an issue I constantly run into with mass produced factory desks of this nature. The left rail for the small drawer did not match up perfectly with the rail on the inside of the left wall of the desk making it uneven and a terrible eyesore. To correct this, I removed the rail from the wall and drilled new holes to match the drawer so that it laid straight. If this is also an issue for you and you choose to drill your own holes, be careful, measure twice, and go slow. A second issue is another one I knew I would run into. The bottoms of the drawers are thin cardboard. Why on Earth they can't just supply one more piece of wood for these sections I'll never know. My problem with the cardboard is if you put too much weight in those drawers, they WILL buckle. I have seen it countless times. Abide by the weight limits to prevent this from happening to you. The weight limits are as follow: Small drawer - 18 lbs Filing cabinet - 42 lbs Tower compartment (Wood) - 100 lbs Keyboard drawer - 30 lbs Desktop - 300 lbs I did not purchase the hutch to this desk and I do not recommend you do either. Hutches on mass produced factory furniture WILL bow over time even if you do not keep anything on the top of it. The material simply is not good enough. The only time I would recommend a hutch is if it is hand crafted with solid wood. The two issues I have with this piece are minor and I would still recommend the desk. They do however, prevent me from rating it 5 stars. It's a very nice looking desk and I will review the product again in 6 months to see how it holds up to regular use in regard to scratching or staining. I am very happy with the desk as it offers a lot of space for all I needed it for, for the price I paid for. ... show more

This desk is a 3/5 star but I need to drive the rating down. Desk showed up damaged, they offered replacement parts but it would have required complete disassembly to replace the two damaged portions. 2 years in, the leading edge of the desk is, predictably, chipping. Cheap material that off-gassed for months after assembly. Pros: Great L-shaped size. Nice, flexible layout. Good price and very sturdy. Cons: Cheap. Has worn down so much already that it’s unprofessional. Smells/off-gasses for months (maybe an year) after assembly. Cable management is very awkward and seem ludicrous to have the plugs in front of the valance which makes it Incredibly hard to thread cable by oneself. ... show more

This is a tremendous desk. The cherry color is somewhat unique and gorgeous - it looks and feels like a much higher quality desk that what you think you'll be getting. Decent storage as well, and I'm a big fan that the keyboard drawer is reversible so you can figure out the best configuration for your workspace. The L-shape is great for feng shui if you're into that kind of thing, and keeps your workspace uncluttered if you're not. I do wish there was better cable management - I might drill a small hole or two - and the slide-out keyboard tray is very tight. Also, if I'm nit-picking, it was tough to get the drawers to be completely flush. However, none of this is enough to lose a star in my opinion. People complained in the reviews about the setup, but not only was it not that bad, but pretty fun. You probably do need two people - but it's not arduous at all. No harder than IKEA, and a much higher quality product. Highly recommended. ... show more
