Took a while to get my office totally done, it’s a process but am so happy with it and get a ton of compliments on the desk. Modern style yet also timeless. I went with Ashgrey to straddle the grays and browns, especially later when grey is not so trendy. Overall assembly went well. Take your time, read and follow instructions thoroughly. A couple of my panels were not labeled with part numbers but easy enough to figure out. I did have one chipped board and manufacture service was excellent. Took some patience to get drawers adjusted to be straight and glide nice but that is what it takes, patience and they are awesome. Changes I made: swapped out smaller screw heads on drawer slides to make glide a little smoother and quieter. Added drawer tray (shown in picture) that rides on top of drawer to fit 2 layers of storage, Cut down the keyboard shelf to use to hide my pile of active work papers/to do at end of day rather than keyboard. Cut hole in back of computer cabinet to run chords. Desk is spacious, very functional, nice quality/value. Love the color. I think Bush is better manufacturer than Sauder for similar price range. All hardware seems nice quality. Feet are plastics, but they look nice. I would definitely buy again. ... show more

This desk is a 3/5 star but I need to drive the rating down. Desk showed up damaged, they offered replacement parts but it would have required complete disassembly to replace the two damaged portions. 2 years in, the leading edge of the desk is, predictably, chipping. Cheap material that off-gassed for months after assembly. Pros: Great L-shaped size. Nice, flexible layout. Good price and very sturdy. Cons: Cheap. Has worn down so much already that it’s unprofessional. Smells/off-gasses for months (maybe an year) after assembly. Cable management is very awkward and seem ludicrous to have the plugs in front of the valance which makes it Incredibly hard to thread cable by oneself. ... show more

I got the platinum gray version and the attached picture shows what the color looks like in natural light. Overall I am very happy with the desk. Very pretty, easy to assemble (took 2 hours with a 2nd person only helping to put the tops on), drawers and door slide/open smoothly, and perfect size for my use. However--the edge of the desk (including the keyboard tray) is sharp enough that it irritates my wrists and forearms to touch/rest/rub against the edges when I type and use my mouse. I noticed this within an hour of use and immediately ordered an extra large desk mouse pad. Hopefully by hanging it slightly over the edge, that will fix things. (And I don't think I'm just sensitive to desk edges. This desk was an upgrade from a $150 one I bought on Amazon a couple years ago. The edge on the new desk is very noticeably sharper than my old desk.) I would still recommend this desk as it has a lot going for it, but with this warning. ... show more

The desk is very good looking and sturdy. Like others I found the directions to be very confusing. Desk comes in 2 boxes and my first delivery I only received 1 box even though it said 1 of 2 right on the top. Had to wait an extra week to receive the full desk and fight to get a return and exchange. Installation was confusing and the directions are horrible, it's very unclear which screws go where in the directions. Also disappointing that a $500 desk with a computer tower compartment doesn't come predrilled with a hole for wiring. Overall happy with the desk but was a giant pain dealing with shipping issues and bad instructions. ... show more

To start I really like the desk, a lot. It's the perfect size for my work, using more than one computer and having enough space to store the rest of my office stuff and still have enough room for a light on my desk. The biggest problem I have is with the finish, though it is beautiful it is VERY and I mean extremely thin veneer peeling and flaking off almost as soon as I had the desk together. Then there was the problem of missing screws for the drawer assembly, which was fine because the customer service department had those sent out as well as any other missing parts I needed as quickly as they could after I called. Sadly the top drawer did finally give the weirdest way possible, though I believe this to be a design flaw. You can't shut the drawer without slamming it because of the way the rails go in, and I checked thinking I installed something wrong. I even took the strews out and made sure all of them were flat and even and nothing was catching. But the back of the drawer gave out on the bottom of all places. Either way, I plan to get a new piece for the back of the drawer and fix it as best I can maybe even reinforcing it with stronger wood on the bottom as well so the little cardboard piece doesn't give way as well. Either way, the main parts of the desk are very sturdy and thick I especially like that the entire shell of the desk is in no part mdf wood like so much new furniture is. Anyway, my recommendation would be that if you buy this, be aware of the super thin veneer on the desk as it is just paper, I would recommend using a variable speed drill to get screws started but use a normal screwdriver to make sure things are snug, and maybe have someone around to help you move the boxes because they are super heavy but well packed. ... show more

Keep in mind this is a particle board desk when assembling. Be sure to line up your screws before inserting so you don't blow through the side of the desk and ruin the finish. Also - shipping is a nightmare on this piece. I received half of the desk on a Tuesday, and then the remaining pieces and all of the hardware 7 days later on the following Monday. If ordering this desk, be patient and don't freak out like we did when half the parts were not included in the first shipment. ... show more
