    • A decent piece of furniture once its finally assembled
We got this piece for our kitchen area so that each family member could have a cubby for their stuff. We also got fabric storage cubes to help hide the clutter. It nicely matches our simple white window and door trim, and I like that the bottom legs are 'open' (important for us since a floor HVAC vent is right underneath it). The white painted finish is nicely applied and survived shipping without any issues; the part labels came off cleanly without leaving any residue, which is nice. That said, it's a little expensive for what you're getting (other than the corner pieces, it's all MDF or particleboard). And you have to assemble a LOT of parts (45 cam nuts!) which seems a little much for a simple piece like this. Tip: When assembling part 'L', it can be flipped around so that the cam nuts will be visible from the back of the unit instead of the front. ... show more

    • Refreshingly easy to assemble
I'm a veteran of many DIY furniture-building projects. The usual routine: drag box in from UPS truck, open box, read instructions, cry, call boyfriend. He gets the tools he's loaned me in the hope that I might learn to use them and builds the piece. This time I was reaching for the Kleenex when I realized that the instructions were understandable. While the bookcase is too heavy for one person to manage and it did take two, I could otherwise have built it myself. Advice: read the instructions, lay the pieces out in order, match them with the hardware, use power tool on low to avoid splitting the wood (manual screwdriver would take hours). Having learned from a review that removing the tiny labels might also remove the paint, I simply painted over them with that indispensable DIY remedy, White Out. ... show more

Missing parts and terrible instructions! Missing all the wood dowels and cannot put it together without them! I DO NOT want to ship it back in order to just get a new one that has all the parts. It weighs 60 pounds and has over 25 wood parts! Cannot get ahold of the seller and or the manufacture for the missing parts! ... show more

We found this really easy to put together just make sure you have a little time to put it together if you use glue . We use wood glue as we put it together we found that the furniture Cam and lock and nut really locked everything together very well we would see the extra glue be squeezed out where the prices was locked together. It has 4 legs and to small feet that are in the center of the cabinet. We are using it in a small child room. We like that the center shelf on the bottom has a back pice that allowed us to put it in front of the wall electrical plug in for safety. The cabinet is heavy it’s made out of composite wood (Composite wood is a mixture of several components that may include wood, plastic and straw. The particles and fibers from different woods are combined, and adhesives keep them bound together. ) We really believe that why the cabinet designers use component wood to make it able to hold larger amounts of wight. I really think I was misled by the “scratch resistant surface” “sturdy post leg design” and “resistance to warping or cracking”. This is glorified mad in China particle board, nothing more. The instructions state that assistance is required because I believe if you don’t have two or more people, this will absolutely fall apart as it has for me. Even simply putting in the screws broke the wood. First time I put a screw in with a drill, I thought I may have drilled a little too far so it cracked, so the second time, I carefully did it with a screwdriver and it still cracked. You have to be ever so gentle with every screw. Also while pushing down the board to make sure it’s flush with another board, I heard a crack on the biggest piece of wood and I hardly put much pressure on it. Simply removing the stickers even ripped off the paint. The only good things about this is that it was well packaged, the instructions were extremely clear and everything is well labeled, but overall, this is not something I would ever use to hold anything heavy, nor would I put it anywhere besides a closet or basement. Customer service for the company is decent, waiting on replacement parts which should take 15 days. Contemplating returning this all together. This is not quality at all and once again I was misled by other reviews. I never got to finish assembling this and I will update it once I receive the other part. ::sigh:: ... show more

I bought two of these cabinets to create a cutting table for my sewing room. After assembling the cabinets, I attached a three-quarter inch piece of wood on top. The wood top sticks out a little on one side to make a place I can sit and work. The other side is perfect for standing work. The cubes are good storage for quilting accessories and projects. It turned out to be the tiniest bit too short for me. So I bought the cute little risers to give it just a bit more height. The assembly was a bit of a challenge. There’s no mystery, the directions say have two people assemble this. I was able to assemble them anyway with feline assistance. I really love this construction. It doesn’t wobble because it’s heavy enough to stay in place. The risers have felt so I can move it, but I don’t expect to have to. ... show more
