These sheets are the real deal if you want hotel quality 100% percale cotton, which is mean to feel crisp, airy and almost a bit "crunchy", with no stretch to the fabric. This makes them the most breathable, cooling type of sheets you will find and also means they can't really be rated on "softness". They are going to be somewhat wrinkly no matter what since that's how percale behaves, and they make that delightful rustling sound when you get into bed. Wash them on delicate cycle and line dry if possible, otherwise tumble dry on low heat. Don't iron them as this breaks down the fibers in the cotton. Instead fold them while they're warm out of the dryer. If you like silky, smooth sheets that don't wrinkle easily get microfibre. If you like extremely soft, stretchy sheets try bamboo or jersey knit cotton. Percale isn't for everyone, but there's no need to dock stars because you didn't know what percale was and had different expectations. ... show more

I have used percale sheets for decades. Percale is smooth, cool to the touch, and soft. This has none of those qualities. I washed them before using, as I always do, and they came out covered in hard wrinkles, without the coolness I was expecting. I will return these when I can get them back in the box. ... show more

Nice quality sheets for the price. Makes going to bed every night enjoyable. If you can't live with wrinkles or ironing, don't buy cotton percale sheets. I can't believe people give negative reviews because these sheets wrinkle.

I received the item boxed, inside of a second box, inside of an Amazon box. I opened the outer Amazon box & was concerned to see staining on the inner box (see photo). I opened the stained box and, fortunately, the set was in a manufacturer’s box & the set was undisturbed by whatever the stain was. The color was exactly the shade I’d hoped for and the material was PERFECT! I feel like percale sheets went out of fashion for a few years. I looked high & low for them. They finally started showing up again & I was thrilled, but they never had the right feel that I was looking for and I was really discouraged. It turns out that the sets I was looking at had thread counts that were too low (200-300). I found these & figured I had nothing to lose. I’m so happy with the material. The feel, the quality, the strong seams, the wide elastic, everything. The only problem I found was with the stitching on one of the pillowcases. I don’t know how to describe it except to say that it’s crooked (see photos). I took a pic of the pillowcase and then turned it over and took a pic of the other side. I washed them in cool water, and tumble dried on low heat. I haven’t slept on them yet, but I’m looking forward to it and will update my review then. EDIT 7/15/24: I’ve slept on the sheets for a few days now. They are very CRISP without being scratchy. They’re extremely wrinkly, but I don’t care about that.
