It seems the initial product has a film over it as when I first tried it there was no tint. Deciding to use it for chapstick regardless the second and better third time the tint finally came through. I wear this daily and it leaves my lips soft all day! My lips are pretty red on their own so you don’t see a huge color difference in my pic but this balm gives my a nice sheen and a tiny bit of color. I love it! Each tube lasts me about 3 months and I wear it almost every day! It’s a great value! I’ve included a picture of my lips with no balm and one with the Rose shade of this balm. Burt's Bees is a quality company that makes excellent products. This tinted lip gloss is my favorite. It goes on smooth and you can layer it for deeper color. This Red Dahlia color is so complementary to my skin tone, it goes with everything. My lips feel soft and conditioned. It even gives your lips a gentle gloss. I was looking for a replacement for Burt's Bees thinner versions of tinted lip balms that apparently have been discontinued? They're more neutral shades (nudes and sheer) whereas this shade was to vivid pink for me. As far as the moisturizing aspect, it works well but don't expect it to be a one and done application. I had to reapply every few hours and I'm not a lip licker and without eating or drinking. I might look at other colors... I sure do miss the thinner versions, they had different scents like peppermint - not that is why I want them but I loved a few of the colors. ... show more

I have medium/olive skin and at first the color looked awful on my lips, it showed up almost lilac. I’ve been using the lip balm for a week now and It’s finally showing up reddish brown so keep that in mind. The product stays on for a long time, maybe 3 hours on me and it doesn’t feel drying at all.
