We really like this Burley Tail Wagon. It is easy to assemble. We introduced our puppy to it as a crate with no wheels then graduated to putting on the wheels and moving it around before hooking it to the bike so he would feel comfortable in a moving crate. We like that it easily folds for car transport. We haven’t gone on any long rides yet as it is winter but we are looking forward to rides in better weather. ... show more

    • So much fun!
Now our dog can go on bike rides with us and loves it! Our dog prefers the front flap open so would appreciate something to attach her harness to so she won’t jump out. Overall very pleased with purchase.

Just purchased & received this Burley bike trailer yesterday - we found it very easy to assemble and attach to the bike. Actually pulled much easier than an old 'converted from child use to used for pet' Schwinn bike trailer which we had for years. A bit narrower & not as huge to pull along, it will be easier to take on bike trails. Seems our Sheltie enjoyed her 'test ride' thru our open field. The easy folding design and removable wheels are a definite plus. This trailer quickly 'passed the trial' with flying colors and has become a 'keeper'. ... show more

    • New model {green) lacks some of the previous models features
After doing the research, I decided on getting the Burley tail wagon. It costs more than the others I looked at but I came to the conclusion that the quality was superior. I almost bought the yellow one but I am not a fan of yellow so when I saw the green one I jumped on it. The trailer is excellent quality and very easy to assemble, though I have yet to use it. I was thinking about getting the front wheel kit so I could use it as a stroller to get my dogs used to riding in it before attaching it to the bike. It turns out that the green one doesn't have a handlebar so the front wheel kit wouldn't be of much use. There are also no rain shields which is something I am not particularly happy about, but the lack of attachment points to tether to on the inside is a bigger deal. I definitely need to attach a leash to their harnesses so I will have to figure something out. Overall I am excited to start using it but I wish I had purchased the yellow one instead. It seems to have more bells and whistles. I am increasing my rating to 4 stars because we have been using it and I am really impressed with how stable it is and how smooth it rides. My dogs love going for rides now. ... show more

Easy assembly. I have a new Trek FX 3 with disc brakes and the assembly with the hitch was easy. Did not need any of the extra hitch attachments to make it work. Assembly of the trailer itself was easy. Put my dog in it for a trial run and all was good. I feel confident to do a 25 mile ride this weekend. ... show more

    • Pretty big, no padding, no clip for leash or harness
I guess I'm confused by the good reviews. The unit looks to be quite stable and robust but it is way too big for our Havanese and there is no clip for his harness or anything to secure the dog with. For the price I might also have expected some padding. The package was damaged so bad I couldn't find a box quickly enough to make it in the return window so now I'm stuck with a $400 item that one month later had a $100 price drop.     • Great trailer, but seems to be missing some key features
Purchased 2 weeks ago, so still in trial mode. I decided to go with this one (the green one) instead of the yellow because the yellow is an older model and thought this would be easier to get accessories for later on. The trailer is easy to set up and seems to be sturdy. My pup has taken to it quite well so far - likes to hang out in it and bring toys in and out. He sits nicely while moving in the house and seems to enjoy it, but gets a bit scared moving outside and attached to the bike, so we're taking it slow. A few noticeable features are missing... first the product description says that it will keep the rain off but this appears to be from the yellow trailer which has dual mesh and plastic windows. This trailer only has mesh, so without an additional rain fly, water will get in. Also, there are no loops to attach/tether a leash to while the pup is in the trailer. This was a feature of the yellow trailer and the Burley FAQ tells you "use the sewn in loops". The only option to really ensure the pup won't try to jump out is to close all of the windows. There is also no wheel locking mechanism - not a huge deal, but does allow for more movement when stationary. Will update as/if more comes to light. ... show more
