  • A Must Read!
Format: Paperback
Building AI-Powered Products” by Dr. Marily Nika is an essential manual for anyone serious about leveraging AI in product development. As a founder and AI PM, I can confidently say this book cuts through the hype and provides the practical frameworks, mental models, and real-world examples needed to actually ship AI-native products that matter. Whether you’re building your first AI-powered feature or leading a GenAI startup, this should be required reading—clear, actionable, and refreshingly strategic without getting lost in technical jargon. ... show more

  • A comprehensive guide, really enjoyed it
Format: Paperback
This is a great guide for people that want to understand what it takes to become an AI product manager in 2025. I liked the AI strategy chapter the most. It has a lot of examples, frameworks and tools on how to go about building AI products. She did a great job in writing a book with foundations likely to last for the coming years but AI is moving fast so I'm curious to see if she will need a second edition or not. ... show more

  • Interesting and immediately helpful read
Format: Paperback
I'm a PM at a mag-7 tech company and I've found this book both stimulating and insightful. This is a very ambitious survey of an entire field, especially one that is so dynamic, so it was surprising that Dr. Nika was able to cover so much ground with useful insights throughout.

  • This should have been a blog post
Format: Paperback
I was really excited when I first heard about this book and bought it for my entire team to read. However, the book really just rehashes a lot of basic PM principles. I expected a lot more depth. Perhaps using in depth, detailed use cases across different industries and categories would have been much more helpful. The price of the book is really expensive and doesn't deliver the value. I trusted that since it's an O'Reilly book that it would be good. Unfortunately, this book doesn't deliver. Don't waste your time or money. ... show more

  • Light on Information, Heavy on Repetition
Format: Paperback
I was looking forwards to this one, but unfortunately it doesn't deliver. The good is that there _is_ information in this book. It does give overviews of the various sorts of AI solutions you can integrate into products, and will help a PM get familiar with the lingo the engineers are using. Great. The bad? The book's written by someone with stellar credentials, but honestly most of the content reads like AI generated content. A normal section will tell you what it's about to be about, repeat that it's about to be about those things, then there'll be a definition list, and then a repetition that the list was about the thing they claimed. Like AI output, though, somehow there're more words than you need and yet no real information in those words; ideas are presented vaguely circuitously. Why two stars? One is for the useful pieces of information. The other is for the cover, which is probably the best O'Reilly cover I've seen. ... show more

  • 10/10 would recommend!
Format: Paperback
Just finished my first read through and loved it. I can tell I’m going to use this as reference material for years to come. Marily does an amazing job illustrating complex ideas and making them digestible and actionable. Even with AI changing everyday, the lessons are foundational and help me interpret the big changes that are happening. ... show more

  • Does not worth the price - need to polish before releasing the book
Format: Paperback
It tries to be comprehensive but lacks depth and reads like AI written e.g., provide AI the outline and ask AI to write all of it. A lot of the sentences are just like bullet points and there are no supporting examples.
