Beware! I bought this buffer in 11/2021 and have used it the 3rd time today. I was buffering out my daughters headlights and the buffer started vibrating badly then all of a sudden the backing plate completely sheared off. Don’t see how you can replace this part without buying the whole thing. Update: 01/14/23 Great customer service! I sent the company an email and they immediately responded and sent me a new(redesign) polisher. The polish is lightweight and easy to use. Can’t say much about the redesign until i use it. I will give a follow up review once i use it. If your looking for a simple polisher/buffer for everyday DIYer, this is a great polisher. Also, can’t beat the price. ... show more

***UPDATE: AMAZING customer service. They saw my review, contacted me immediately and offered to send a replacement. It arrived just a few days later and they've assured me that the design is different and improved. Truly appreciate this kind of professional response. *** On my 3rd time using it I started noticing small scratches on the surface of what I was polishing. Looked closely and found bits of metal always over the surface. Inspected the polisher to find the pad was nearly completely broken loose from the motor where it mounts and the mounting rod was grinding on the metal plate on the back of the foam pad. In short, it was falling apart and creating metal shavings that ruined my workpiece. ... show more

I purchased this buffer because of the lack of service life I got from two previous Black and Decker buffers. This is a good buffer but the rotating head has come off twice. I've put it back on but I don't have a lot of confidence that it will stay on. It's too bad because it's a pretty good buffer for my needs. It's lightweight and pretty easy to handle. I know it only cost about $40, but I would have expected it to last a year or two, not 6 months. ... show more

This is a good gateway polisher. I use it to polish my mustang after I wash it. It’s easy to use and pretty light. The handle on top is great for extended polishing sessions. It’s a decent little DA polisher for the price. It does what it’s supposed to do. But god dammit does it vibrate like hell. After only 10 seconds of polishing, I have to stop for a minute to let the blood get back into my hands. If you’re a cheapskate, this is perfect for you. Otherwise, do yourself and your hands a favor and buy a better one. I bought a good one for $70 a few days ago and it is extremely smooth and very quick. Barely vibrates at all. ... show more
