My 8-year-old son needed a new clock radio for his room - trying to replace an older Phillips iPod dock clock with really good sound. I'm really impressed with several features of this clock radio. 1) Sound - it advertises a higher power rating/wattage than many others like it online and it performs well - treble is clear and this little guy has decent bass - enough sound to fill a bedroom. 2) Features - night light is an unexpected plus (multiple colors to choose from by clicking the button; easy buttons to turn on radio, alarm, light, and turn off delay; alarm options are good (my son loves the chirping birds) 3) General look - it's a clean looking clock on his nightstand One downside - the icons on the front can be difficult to recognize at first through the screen exterior. Conclusion - if I didn't use my iPhone to wake me up in the morning, I would probably buy one for my bedroom. For my son, I didn't need an AUX cord or bluetooth connection - so, this clock-radio is a perfect fit. Just set this up today. Very minimal and nice. In the dark the time is easy to see, but not a bright annoying light, plus you can dim all the way to no light at all. I was suprised at the volume and clarity of the radio. It's antenna is a long wire that you can easily tape or use a push pin on the wall to get a good signal. Plus when you have it set up you hold the radio button and it scans for the stations and sets them to presets. I had over 30 stations coming in clearly. The alarms are loud and clear and I think you can set the alarm clock to be the radio as well. Overall it's a great alarm clock and I would definitely buy again. ... show more

Pros: - small footprint on my night table - easy to read if you turn up the light - easy to turn on and easy to switch between stations - sound is good for such a small radio Cons: - hard to access the buttons in the dark. I like to use the sleep timer (fall asleep to the radio, and sometimes listen to the radio during the night), and if I try to turn it on in the dark, I can't see the correct buttons. The only way to see the buttons is to turn on my bedside light, and that's too bright for the middle of the night - If you touch the wrong button you can end up listening to a different radio station, or start to re-set the time. Again, the buttons aren't easy to see. - The nightlight turns on when I want, but seems to shut itself off randomly. Perhaps I just don't know how to set it permanently. I haven't used the alarm, so I can't review that. ... show more

I like the fact that this little clock is so easy to set and use. It has multiple color night light and birds singing to wake me up plus the numerals on the clock have a control on the back to turn the brightness up and down. The volume has a terrific range from quiet to loud so I can set it so as not to bother anyone in the next room but still so I can hear it and drown out noisy traffic outside. AND there are little bumps on the button that turns the light off and on so it can be felt in the dark which is a great idea. All in all this is the best little nightstand clock I have ever purchased. Very happy with it and I would buy it again if I needed to. AND it has a wire for an antennae that I just string into my lamp. I know not everyone would be happy with this clock but I bet most people would be. ... show more

Edited and extra star given I’ve been needing a new clock radio for beside my bed, & have been eyeing this little unit for a while, and I decided to finally get it. Pros: It’s easy to use and sets up fast right out of the box. Instructions are coherent and easy to follow. Very easy. The sound is what you’d expect for a unit of this size. It is nowhere near the sound quality that many reviewers here are stating. It’s better than your old school clock radio, but it’s certainly no Bose. The night light is a soft glow and easily changed. The dimmer switch is the same. Cons: (this is a big one for me, & it’s most irritating) The unit auto scans and automatically saves the first 30 radio stations finds. And you cannot override this. So if you’ve got one station, that’s mostly static, but has a faint signal, it automatically stores it. So half of your stations will be static and weaker signals if you live in a radio saturated area which I do. It also becomes annoying when it stores 30 static stations up to station 98.9 on the dial, in position 30, and your favorite station is 101 on the dial. What good is a radio to me that I can’t find my own station? This is going back and I will keep looking EDIT: I haven’t sent it back. The more I use it the more I like it minus the radio issue. I heard back from Customer Service department of the company. And they suggest that when you use the radio to search left (taking you right to the big number stations) rather than searching up from the smallest. Now you can’t store them using this method; But it did allow me to find my radio station, and since I don’t ever change it anyway I guess it’s not a big deal.
