I ordered this set because– pickleball! I was ready to try the trend, and I wanted 4 paddles because my son and his girlfriend wanted to try it too. Happily, my order arrived sooner than expected, about an hour before I headed out for my first practice session. What’s great about this set: the colorful paddles! I really like the fun retro design; having 4 colors makes it easy to coordinate with an outfit or designate a color per person. I also liked that the set comes with 8 balls. They performed well– just the right amount of bounce. The string bag carrying case is weatherproof and lightweight with the bonus of being able to wear it on your back if you’re carrying other things. The downside: the paddle was too heavy for me. I have a torn rotator cuff. I am able to do many things– yoga, paddle boarding, planks, swimming– but I am not able to play tennis because it puts too much strain on my shoulder. After a few strong pickleball hits, my shoulder started to hurt. I swapped out my paddle for one of my friend’s lighter paddles and was able to play without twinges. When comparing the paddles, I noticed that the Buddy Cheer was slightly smaller (not as square in shape) as my friend’s. More surface area seems like a good thing for a beginner like me. My friend pointed out that a heavier paddle is great for a power shot, so someone without shoulder issues would probably love this set. Sadly, it’s not a good fit for me. This pink BuddyCheer Pickleball is really cute! It has a cushion grip and is comfortable to use while playing pickleball. The board is a little more narrow than another set we have, but it still works fine and didn’t impact my game at all. The advertisement for this racket says it’s a set and includes another racket and balls. That is absolutely not the case. This comes with one single racket and no balls. The advertisement needs to be updated to avoid some very unhappy customers. Overall, I would recommend this racket to others. Thank you for reading my honest and objective review. I am new to pickleball and wanted to try it out but did not want to purchase everything individually and wanted something of decent quality that would last the ware and tare of being a beginner and also traveling in our RV. This was the perfect set indoor/outdoor balls, 4 paddles and a carrying/storage bag. Being a beginner I was not sure of the quality I should be looking for but as far as I can tell this was a great purchase, paddles seem well made lightweight and of good quality. This is an excellent beginner pickleball racquet. I love it's price - how can you go wrong here? Despite being made of the lowest quality material, wood, it is actually not as heavy as some of the other wood racquets I have played with. This one feels pretty nice to hold, swing, and dink those pickleballs! I love the strap, I have seen zero paddles with straps, and these are a great safety feature, especially for beginners and kids learning to play! I’ve recently been wanting to play pickleball, so was thrilled when I came across this set. The paddles are great - has a good feel to them, good weight, great colors and grip is easy to hold onto. We wanted to get my kids into pickleball, but I wanted to avoid expensive paddles for them to break. After some research, I ran into these and they are actually pretty amazing and I can tell are super durable. I played my first game with them and did awesome. Maybe it was the thought that I had a brand new paddle, but either way, I noticed the paddles were light and had good grip. I was able to spin some balls which was a plus. The 8 balls that came with it are good quality as well. All in all, I'm glad I purchased these. I'd definitely purchase them again in the future if I need a few more. Recommend to buy! ... show more
