The budget carbon bars are all the wrong diameter, too small. You can tighten what you mount down and make them work, but I eventually tossed them in the garbage and ordered these. These are excellent bars, and the correct diameter for mounting stuff on them. The weight is lighter than I expected, but much more than the carbon bars. The finish is low budget, but works fine. Handle bar is lightweight and looks great. The colors are more black and gray; not black and silver as shown in the pictures. It looks a lot nicer than the handlebars in Amazon picture. Good price and will do the job.

Wanted a wider handle bar for my 1998 Gary Fisher mountain bike. What a difference. Add 4” in width and the bike handles much better and is more stable.

Ok, so this is a good, wider bar for 25.4. There is some flex, I will only be road riding with the Burley Samba tadem I rebuilt. Will this be good for mountain bikes with light trail riding? Maybe, I could see them bending. I have renthal carbon bars on all my other bikes, and they flex a lot less than these metal bars. They also feel comfortable with the rise and sweep, and had no issues mounting my new shifters and odi grips. ... show more
