This tape is truly remarkable! I much prefer it over the big name competition! Just as described the tape is easy to handle, adheres extremely well, is close to 4 mil thick aluminum, and here is the big plus; it's easy to remove as well, had no detectable adhesive odor which the higher priced competition had, and left no residue at least in my testing of it after a very easy removal test; just as is claimed. No print on the foil which is great, and is paper backed which peels off easily. Nice wide width! I used it for an outdoor job on soffit vents for partial vent surface area modification. Exceeded my expectations! We'll see how it holds up after a winter of direct west wind hits; however, it appears to be tenacious in adhesion (yet easy and clean to remove and left no residue, from my testing). Very impressive!!! At this point it's definitely my "go to" tape for all my HVAC applications, duct sealing, furnace and AC gaps, insulation sealing, and even unusual exterior purposes as well such as this recent outdoor job. Good stuff. Not sure what most people use it for but I’ve put it on a ton of stuff. Even works on my wood stove flue pipe where the connection is too drafty, I guess the glue burned off but the tape sealed it and stands up to the heat.

This sticks really well. Be careful when using long pieces though, if you pull the entire backing off it will curl up and stick to itself. Instead start the piece on the air handler then peel off the rest of the backing as you stretch the tape. It sticks really well my main duct had become separated on one side of my unit with a one half inch gap bowed outward this taped it back down and completely sealed the major heat loss ... show more

I didn't realize there was such a product....I have fixed my dryer vent, patched up some holes in other parts of the vent and fixed a light fixture. I'm thinking, like electrical tape, this is a product that I should keep on hand, kind of like masking tape....
