    • It is a great tool for your gardening project or farming.
This came to my attention when I was searching for a Dewalt 20V battery and as my wife has been using the traditional manual pruning shears, I thought it was going to be a great item for her to use. The shears are way more powerful than I imagined. It is a great way to utilize the Dewalt 20V batteries which I don't use every day. As my wife has asked me on more than a few occasions that 'why I would need more than 1 battery for my tools', today was the day that I was able to show her that sometimes I would use more than 1 tool to do a job. She likes the tool very much and the only concern I have is that since it can literally cut through any soft, non-metallic object including human skins and fingers, she would have to be very carefully when using this. A couple points I noticed -- 1. It comes with a trigger switch guard from accidentally turning it on. 2. I would have loved the LED lights. This is because almost all of the newer Dewalt power tools nowadays come with LED lights. It is very handy and useful when using power tools. 3. Fairly large opening of 1.2" to tackle thicker stems. 4. Competitively priced compared to other electric pruning shears. ... show more

When you release the trigger the cutter opens up. I have a version of this from another brand and it completes the cutting stroke when you release the trigger. I still deducted a star because I feel this tool should have a safety button that needs pressed in conjunction with the trigger pull in order to operate. Even cordless heat guns make you press a button in conjunction with a trigger pull. The cutter has a power button on its base. A digital display that shows your battery percentage in number form and has a cut counter. It comes with an extra cutting blade, the tools needed to change the blade, and a small sharpening stone, and a bottle of oil. As long as the motor assembly holds up, it comes with everything to get years of service from this cutter. I like this utilizes dewalt batteries. The shears aren’t as powerful as the dewalt version, but I didn’t expect them to be since they are a fraction of the price. ... show more

    • Instructions could be better
I really needed this tool! I have so many fast-growing woody hedges and ornaments that need to be trimmed constantly. Hand pruners and bypass loppers are wearing me out. This makes a huge difference in tackling that dreaded chore. I chose a model that used a battery platform I know is dependable rather than investing even more money in one with unproven off-brand batteries that I have no other tools for. You will probably need to read the instructions to operate all the features. To me, the wording is a bit confusing to understand the different settings to open the blade to 0.78” or 1.2”. Also to explain how to shut it off with the blades open or close. The price of this tool at the time of my review was around $45 which is extremely reasonable for what it does. I got this mostly to cut up dried sticks and saplings for kindling. It's both frightening and awesome how this cutter just cuts through this stuff like butter - even on pieces of seasoned oak. Even on some larger stuff that stalled it, I could just rotate it around the item taking bites until it snaps the rest of the way through. This thing could easily lop off a finger so look out. I'll also be using this to prune my fruit trees which will be very nice to be able to operate in tight quarters with one hand. Highly recommended! ... show more

Honestly, I wasn’t sure about these at first. Because the cutters seemed small, I was worried about power. The reality is, any piece of wood I could easily slip into the jaws it could easily cut. So I was both surprised and happy. It comes with a little adjustment kit and a sharpening stone. There are a few strange things, though . . . It has a cut counter - I'm not sure the point in reality, but whatever – and a power button. It’s not just “plug in the battery and go.” And if you want to store it closed, you have to pull the trigger, then turn it off before releasing the trigger. It is doing great for light tree pruning for me and takes the pressure off my hands. While not a replacement for all my pruning gear, and I have to combine it with a little 4" chainsaw to cover all my needs, it does a good job for its size and place in my kit. ... show more

These are great performing cordless pruning shears. The blade is ultra sharp and can handle limbs and branches up to one inch or slightly larger. I have been using mine on fruit trees and flowering bushes. They are lightweight and no assembly required. It does NOT include a battery, and uses only DEWALT 20V batteries, which many of us have already for other tools. If you don’t already own a DEWALT battery AND charger, it may be more practical for you to look for another pruner with battery included for a few dollars more. ... show more

    • Awesome time and hand saver
This tool is awesome! It takes about 98% of the work out of trimming and pruning because all you must do is pull the trigger. Using a DeWalt 20 Volt 3-amp hour battery you can use this thing for days. I have successfully cut things up to 1.5 inch without trouble or damage to the tool. If you do a lot of pruning, I highly recommend this tool. ... show more

    • Good power. Small jaws.
The media could not be loaded. I already have a pair of electric loppers, but they use their own proprietary batteries, so I was excited to get these to use with my plethora of Dewalt batteries. To be honest, I suspect that both units share the exact same guts. I suspect that the two companies simply wrapped their own bodies and battery interfaces onto them. It's plenty powerful. It had no trouble at all snipping through the largest branches I could fit into its mouth. I also tried it on dried seasoned branches which are harder and it had no problems there as well. I really wish they had designed it with larger jaws. I'm sure it could have easily handled the bigger branches. At under $50, I think it's a fairly good value. ... show more
